If you have ever driven this car then you will know that torque steer is not a huge issue.

equal length drive shafts aid in that department.

Looks are subjective. Performance is not.

I don't think anything could be further from the truth.

There are many examples, even from just on this board, of incidents over subjective valuations of performance:

1) Big turbo and big lag vs. smaller turbo and less lag
2) AWD vs. FWD vs. RWD
3) Dyno dynamics dyno vs. dynojet vs. mustang
4) pump fuel vs. race gas
5) real world tires vs. "never will they be used on the road" slicks

all of these factors are concomitant to substantial performance, but many of us on these forums and abroad differ on which is better. Performance, itself, is subject to much subjectiveness. Only when you isolate performance into particular categories, e.g. horsepower, 0-60 acceleration, quartermile, etc., can a particular facet of performance be objective.

btw, are the rumors about that dyno true?

btw, the 1/4 mile times you're way off on... u might be able to pull off a low 12 to high 11.. but anything else is very very difficult in fwd..

Me? Nope I don't think its me. I've only posted on mwir like once or something...lol.

What rumors about the dyno? I know that they dynoed at UTI and the students that were working in the background were all laughing at the "neon" when it pulled up making jokes and ****. But when Steve smacked down 451 hp they all shut up and went back to work and didn't say a damn thing.

As far as the estimated 1/4 time I'm sticking with my guess of mid to low 11's at least. The quickest stock turbo srt ran a 12.3 on drag radials. This car was dynoing around 285 hp to the wheels.

Hey man who is your partner in Waukegan? I live in Zion which is right next door. What kind of parts can you guys get and do you guys stock them locally?

You make a great point.

I should have rephrased my statement to say..."Look past the skin and marvel at it's raw power"...or something cheesy like that..lol

That's awesome!

You SRT guys need more parts!
High-lift Cams
Intercooler Piping
Stand-Alone Engine Management
ARP Head Studs

You may get to 500+ on the stock engine.

Are these neons running on stock motor? It doesnt seem like it, but I might be wrong. By the way, that guy in the yellow SRT is an ***. I'm not going to apologize for bashing, but he is really is an ***. I saw him around with his neon. Not a very friendly guy. Acting like he is driving a jet on 4 wheels. heheh, oppsss, it is like a jet on 4 wheels if it has that much hp. I guess he got the right to be an *** if he has a fastass neon. We'll see how long it'll last. Look like Dodge has scored a big win with this 4banger turbo. I wish they could have put that into a mini viper-like than a neon. Too bad...

Thats the exciting part! Its been exactly 12 months since the srt4 was released and the car is capable of 450 hp to the wheels on the stock block and we're just barely tapping into its true capabilities.

Cams? - Crane has already released a set and a few guys are running them but tuning them in is a *****. From what I can remember I think there wasn't much gains from these grinds. I think Crane was reworking them, not sure.

IC piping? - Since the intake manny is in front there isn't much IC piping. Hard pipes are already out by a few vendors on our site. Not much to gain in power from these.

Stand alone ECU? - AEM is an official sponsor of srtforums.com and they are currently working on a few products for the srt-4. One mighty important one is their plug and play ECU.

I don't personally know Steve but have read his posts on the srtforums. He doesn't seem to come off as an ***. He seems very helpful and willing to list out all his mods and his tuning experiences so other srt owners know what it takes to make 450 to the wheels.

I won't lie either. If I had that much power, I'd be pretty confident on the street too. But I would do it in a more humble way. That's just me.
