Would have bought one in a heartbeat if it were'nt for the Hi Rev Tuners styling. Anyone over the age of 25 could'nt drive one. Chrysler blew it with the cartoon styling. Should have made it look like a regular Neon. At least it would have a sleeper appeal.
Want a bit more out of the suspension?
How about the Mopar/KW Stage 3 rebound adjustable coilovers?

The shifter seem a bit too high?
How about the Mopar Short Shifter?
Definitely my favorite part of owning this car is the factory backed upgrades for everything you can think of. Turbo upgrades, suspension upgrades this list goes on.

The SRT's are $21k OTD with a sunroof. The cheapest EVO I've seen is $29k. Believe me, if there was only a $2k price difference I'd be in a white EVO right flippin' now

I have heard the SRT4's motormounts are one possible issue, and , and I just wondered if the SRT4 has any other areas of concern? I really like the car a lot, and if I could upgrade the suspension a bit, I might seriously considered picking one up.
Dodge is not sophisticated or stylish in their approach, but they really do support the whole mod thing much better than any other marque. They can really pull out all of the stops when throwing together a performance special like the SRT4, thats for sure.

The suspension and handling definitely is a weak point though....for the street it's just fine.....it's not really "bad" just not as good as some. As said above though, a set of Mopar coilovers should help that a bunch. It'll have to do a lot to compare with the handling of my MSP though......that thing handles like a go-kart. And even if that's fixed you still don't get really good feedback through the wheel....kinda feels disconnected and vague so you can't tell really how hard you're pushing.....not sure if coilovers fix that or not. Overall though I continue to impressed........the engine and tranny are bulletproof and nobody is losing parts off of their interior.......hope it keeps up. I'm running my SRT in D-stock auto-X all next year so we'll see how it holds up agains the WRX's and stuff in that class.
How would you compare the SRT v. the MSP? Obviously they're on pretty far ends of the spectrum of rawer power v. tight handling. Nothing mods on either end couldn't overcome however!

The SRT-4 has one hell of an engine. If you can, there's an SCC from a few months back and they delve deep into the bowels of the 2.4L motor and it is a HORSE. Built to make horsepower from its core. The only they dislike was the integrated manifold/turbo setup. What the Neon really needs is an image overhaul (i.e. a new freaking name) and a real suspension. That and on a more aesthetic end, smaller wheels.

I always wondered what my condition was called! For those that don't know, I got rid of the Evo back in October, and ended-up in a Jeep Rubicon. After several months of 10-12mpg fuel economy (thats an oxymoron eh?) I am ready to get some kind of car capable of 20+ mpg. I have been seriously considering another Evo(black this time).
Btw- the pricing I got from the Dodge dealership on an 04 SRT4 was invoice plus $100 which is like $20, 200 or something like that. My wife shot it down though, because of the crash ratings!
All I could think about was the "shoot your eye out with a bb gun syndrome" where I force the purchase of an SRT4 against her will, then promptly go out and wreck it ! Thanks for all of the good feedback on the SRT4 though!
Sometimes you just have to know which battles to lose and which to win.

I'm sure I'm going to be called a "hater" but I don't like them for two reasons too.
1) FWD... I hate it. Great for a civic, bad for a performance car (IMO)
2) It can be as fast as hell (and is) but now matter how fast it is, it can't outrun ugly.

I'm sure we'll find you raving in another post someday about the EVO RS & how great it is despite it not having power doors, mirrors, or locks, AC, stereo, rear wipers, & other "creature comforts".
Don't misunderstand me, I've whooped major *** in my 16G'd DSM so I understand how potent the turbo & AWD combo can be. In fact, if I hadn't just bought a house recently I'd have bought an EVO. So instead I chose the best bang for the buck in that price range. It's just funny how people's ego's get all hurt when a car like the SRT-4 from a company like Dodge starts competing quite nicely with cars costing 8 grand more.
This car was never meant to be refined... if you want that then buy an Audi, Mercedes, or BMW. It was never meant to handle like it's on rails...if you want that then buy a Miata/RX7/MS protege, Porsche, EVO, STI. It WAS built to provide the import market with abarganed price race-bread slap in the face, take your respect (because it sure as hell doesn't get any willingly) & give you the finger as you get passed by a lowely "neon". You may not like them, but you best be carefull before you mess with the Ram...you just might get the horns
FYI- it doesn't say "neon" anywhere on the car.

Walbro 255lph fuel pump
Psi-Fi Power Paq piggy back

Owner is dynoing tomorrow (Friday) with this..
AGP Turbo's new massive intercooler upgrade. *the car in this pic also has a new turbo and many upgrades which should be another srt with 450+ hp*
The owner of the yellow srt is anticipating to make 500 hp to wheels this weekend. I'm not sure if he is adding a 3" turboback or not for this dyno session but he definately needs it. Turbochargers.com out of Texas is doing all the tuning on this bad boy.
