Civic Type R
Yah ive been there, im not trying to rehash all the problems with the RS. Just specifically the marketing that the car didn't live up to. Its one thing to have defects, its another to not do what the company said it could.
Said another way, What claims did Ford make about the car that did not turn out to be true.

Brilliant reviews from the magazines that took about a year to be tempered by actual seat time (see ride quality).

Ford marketed the Focus RS as a track ready car. Turns out it has heat management issues which essentially turn off the RDU. Turning it into a fwd focus that asks too much of the front wheels, thus eating up the tires. http://www.vorshlag.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8453
"The Ford Performance All-Wheel-Drive System intelligently distributes power for maximum benefit, both front and rear as well as left and right. And with four different driving modes, including "Track" and "Drift"1, you can dominate the course no matter the mood you're in." http://www.ford.com/performance/focu...170619203137:s
Oh no! A manufacturer wrote a marketing statement that speaks favorably of their own car in an effort to make the car appealing to the market segment they're trying to sell to!
There is a ton of marketing out there from Ford. Here is just 2 examples:

They release the car at Festival of speed, doing a Hill climb event with Ken Block driving. They release videos highlighting how well the car performs on track. They say the All-Wheel-Drive System intelligently distributes power for maximum benefit, both front and rear as well as left and right.
In reality: When pushed the rdu heats up and shuts off. Then all the power goes to the front wheels, which has an open diff. Guess how well the car handles then.

One is a claim of what the car can do. The other is an alleged result of doing it too much.
