Civic Type R
so... i am in a racing shop in the EU, and they had a CTR on dyno tuned bone stock. Made almost 30hp extra vs stock...
I am getting a feeling this i will be, and i hope not, the new RS story. Great as stock, and then fast down hill as you start modding it with extra power.
I am trully hoping its not the case. But on a bright side, Evo still will be a banch mark for a while under $40k cars

He already broke the ice with a brand new Civic SI. That little 1.5T packs a lot of punch for just a reflash. Take a look to his two latest posts they are very interesting.
And that's when you report the dealership to Honda Corporate and the Better Business Bureau, post the texts all over their Facebook page, and if they don't relent, get a lawyer to write a vicious demand letter. What a bunch of crooks.
As much as we like to complain about dealer markups they are simply the result of supply and demand. Which is a guiding principle of capitalism.
If someone else is willing to pay more for a product, why should you get it for less?
manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP)

any of you enthusiasts interested in buying cars from this dealership still? anyone wanna put down deposits with these shady ****ers for future cars? you can bet for sure on the civic forums this dealership just got blacklisted.
yes there is a willingness to pay factor & supply & demand. there are also other factors that dealerships need to consider, such as reputation... they screwed up. holding the car in hopes that she'll dump the deposit may cost them more in the long run

There's a big difference between charging a markup that the customer is well aware of and agrees to, and a dealership having post-agreement regrets and trying to hold a customer's car hostage because they want to use it to attract more business or charge a markup.
I just read a bulletin (can't confirm it's authenticity) that states Honda is SERIOUSLY advising dealers to not go crazy with the mark up of these cars. To the point where "we won't send you any more if you do". That's nice news and I think it's cool.
My local dealership is asking $5k above MSRP, so should be interesting to see how it goes.

social media won, looks like the dealership wised up to the press they were getting

nothing un-christian about charging willingness-to-pay.
there is something wrong about selling at msrp, then realizing they could make more, then re-negging on the deal/hoping she'd pull her deposit by holding the car for 90 days

I understand small markups for a hot car, but when you start getting into 30%+ markups it pisses me off. My main thing is, think about how awesome of a CTR Honda could have made for 55k+, think about how awesome of a Mustang Ford could have made for 100k+, and so on...
