Carry-on with your Supra love affair, sir.
That would only prove that my car is a lot easier to launch, cause, well, it is. Turn off traction control, floor it and go. I am still not used to launching the ZL1, so I am sure the results would be the same.

As I stated before, I did not beat the ZL1 from a roll. He was clearly pulling on my the entire time.

Honestly, I dont care who the manufacture of the car is. As well as it performs well, I will like it. I could care less that its a BMW. It looks cool and out performs most cars in its price range. Thats a win to me.

as tired as I man of "lets hate it cause its a BMW" thing, lets face it, there's no Toyota DNA in it. Toyota is shown aesthetically and with some tuning of stuff... the actual engineering (DNA) is all BMW

I thought it was co-developed. You give the impression toyota just cut a check to bmw and told them to make them a car. Do we have any information on how involved toyota was in the development of the chassis, power train etc? Toyota has a reputation to uphold, and I don't see them putting a supra badge on this thing if it doesn't meet their standards.

From what I have read, the chassis was a combo of Toyota and BMW. Drive line is all BMW. Interior is 90% Toyota and exterior is 100% Toyota.

Yes, the entire car is made by BMW but in a big way, it was designed by Toyota.

but if you look at the chassis it just looks like what BMW has been doing for years... I think the only part of the Chassis Toyota was in on is shocks/springs and bushings... maybe some target numbers for strength/stiffness.

Again, im just going off what has been posted. I have no solid info on what exactly Toyota did for development with BMW. I dont really care to be honest. I like the car so far and thats all I care about.

Thanks warmmilk! To me, that's the most important part.

If I was to come on here and say I got a z4 or m2c, no one would have anything bad to say. But since I got a Toyota that was built by BMW, it's the end of the world. Get over it people. It is exactly what it is and its performance is great. Get the whole brand thing out of your head and see the car for what it is.

bullsh*t, I'd hate on you if you get a z4. even m2c to a degree, its a great car but I think its a bit overpriced. you can get a mint used GT4 for the price of an m2c and I think thats a better car at that price. You can even get the new one of you compare a loaded m2c to a no option gt4... but I prefer the first gen anyway.

Now you are comparing a porsche to a BMW... Used vs new at that. I get it that the gt4 is better. Can't disagree there. But still, a hard find. I do have to put in, you pay for the porsche tax. The supra tax isn't bad. Pretty similar to the evo tax these days. At least it's something to consider. Once I get my mods on the supra, it should, in theory, put a gt4 to shame, which is still the cheaper route.

Ahh man, ive been reading all your post to see how its going with your new car. But its soo annoying to read other people trying tell you what to buy instead and this car is better than that... theres nothing wrong with a good debate but sheesh. Get over it people it doesnt matter who designed what fraction of this and that, the guy loves his new car! Thats all that matters.

yeah I know its technically apples to oranges, but if I was shopping for a car in that price range, a used GT4 would win out over a new M2C

if you read both posts you'd see I was replying to his "if I bought a M2C". if you read the rest of my posts in this thread I didn't hate on his decision to buy a supra anywhere. even defended it in a bunch of them. so to quote you, "its soo annoying to read" hater replies to a misread sentence taken out of context.

yet you addressed exactly what I said. and I was the only one to say that in this thread. lets add the "i'm gonna pretend I wasn't talking to you" to those annoying things you mentioned.
