Now I'm thinking about a Boxster S
The numbers are bull****, that's why. Go sit in one at a dealer. Seriously - the MR2 is worse than the S2 for a person my height. If you can even get in an MR2 with the top up, the S2 is doable.
OK after waiding trough this long *** post I am still not sure what to say. First, the cars that you are looking into buying are all seeming to be the same except the Evo. From what I can gather I read about a Boxster S, a S2K, a MR2 Spyder, a 350Z convertible...anything else? From what I read the Evo sticks out like a sore thumb, for a couple reasons. #1...4 doors! #2 best performance! #3 probably shoudnt be in the same list with these other cars. Now lets eliminate the Evo then for arguments sake (even though at 6'7" that is the only car you MIGHT truly fit in.) and say that almost everyone agrees that the Boxster is nice but WAYYY too much money and not enough performance, not to mention you dont fit. Hell I dont fit either and I am 6'3" 250lbs. I kinda feel you on fitting in cars part. Of the cars you are looking at I personally woudnt choose any "roadster convertible". The Evo would definitely be looked at as well as the STi and SRT4. For you though the only one that I could see fitting is the 350Z and that car gets good looks, performs well enough, relatively cost efficient. I personally dont understand how the MR2's little ugly *** got in your head, but hey best of luck to you and hope you enjoy whatever you choose.

hmmmmm.....if that's the case then I'm gonna go check one out. My dad was selling them and is 6'5" and told me not to even bother because he physically couldn't even drive the S2K because of the room issues. I'd love to have an S2K personally....I've been lusting for one of those for years......just haven't thought of them because of "size" issues.

Don't do it man! Friends don't let friends ruin their cars with Veilside.
I really haven't had any beef with an S2K. They are fantastic. I've gone up to the Glen a few times with friends (since they own the cool cars... but my MR soon, soon!), and Ryan's S2000 and Tom's M3 are both stock. With the S2K I always managed to stay right on that M3's *** the entire time -- unless I messed up, or the brakes started to fade.
Keep it above 6,000 and the lack of torque is a non-issue. The whole car is quality, save for maybe the brakes. Stick some decent rotors on there though and you've got a great base for a track car.

Porsche for ever.
It is nice to see how many people are saying this and that left and right. The bottom line is that you get an Evo, you spend $15G (if you're lucky), and you are may be close to 4.5 in the 0-60 run. At an additional price: the car is noisy, jerky, in need of be tuned all the time. And what did you get out of it? That you put $15g in a $30g (if new) car.....Plus the faxt the that engine will NOT run for the 100,000 miles plus it was built for: believe me, with the stress you're putting in the engine, you're lucky if you get over the third year with it, depending how you drive. If you do 1/4 miles all the time, you'll be back to the shop all the times. And you'll end up spending way more than $15g..... Get a nice car, dependeble, fast, and get a lot of girls ... classy girls! After all the look is the look!! And what is better looking? If then we want to talk about performance, well: I invite anybody to try to be faster then me (991 turbo): BRING IT ON!

I love Porsches and all but I gotta call it like I see it after looking at your username and post count.....................................
PORSCHE TROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love Porsches. Yum.
I'd say gfo with the Boxster S. I think you'll be very happy
Porsche has a rather large fan following. They have clubs everywhere, and they got track days in just about every one of those clubs. (I go to them a lot to watch the Porsches race).
Only think you might be wary about is (I'm not sure about your age but...) that the fan following is for the most part, older. Only chance you might get running into a young girl is if the girl's father has one. :P
BUT! The people really know their stuff. I've talked to many of them, and they are really in love with their cars.
You could even go classier, and just get an older 911 or something. Depending on the eyear and if it's a Turbo or not, you can probably get one around 30k.

911s are sweet, but you're full of it.15 k?
Ive spend 3k on the engine, and i do the 0-60 and quarter in the same time as the porsche 911tt.
I could blow 30 engines and still be under what you paid for your car, brand new, and STOCK
