Scam Alert
i got scammed by elijahcole92 on here. he purchased cams from me, paypaled me, and was happy with the purchase. 5 months later paypal notifies me that the buyers cc company has filed a charge back for the purchase. i contacted the buyer who says he had nothing to do with it, and that its his grandmothers cc. she is not willing to rectify the situation. unfortunately i didn't keep the tracking number, so paypal says i'm out of luck. i've contacted the buyer several times, and he refuses to pay me the money. i asked him to send me a money order, and he refuses. then paypal charges me $10 charge for their troubles.
this is his last pm to me:
I understand your frustration but i don't believe your fight is with me, but with paypal. My grandmother is unwilling to talk to the cc company or paypal anymore, and i cannot do anything since itis not my card.

I would recommend not using paypal. I got scammed out of 2800 in March of this year. Paypal assumes no responsibility for anything. Their protection guarantee works for as long as it takes you to read their protection guarantee. They allow buyer to claim transaction dispute. That usually means 2 things.
#1 they automatically withdraw that amount from your bank that is registered with paypal
#2 they wait a day or so and deposit your money to the buyer.
There is a website called paypalsucks .com and there you can read thousands of heart broken people who have been scammed via paypal.
Following payments are always subject to scams:
personal checks
money orders
paypal
credit cards
western union and similar services
I have found cash to be the only viable solution. I also found that people who work at paypal are a part of the scam. They collect money from every money transfer, every transaction, every transaction dispute and regardless of outcome they always get to collect money.
As a safety predation if you DO have to use paypal.. google the email address then yahoo the address. If email comes out to be a dud then you know that you have a higher probability of being scammed. Person's email is like a identification card. Those with one email can usually be tracked on search engines. My own email traces me back to 98 when I first opened that account. It shows up in forums and websites and commentaries etc.
Internet gives people a invisible blanket that allows them to be bullies, scammers and generally get away with it without re precautions. When something looks like its too good to be true it always is. If you have a new forum member or an old one with like 2 posts in 5 years suddenly wanting to sell something... that is usually a scam or at least has a high potential of being a scam.

Just wanted to share my experience with member Silver3g2000 out of South Jordan Utah.
Bought a 05 transmission from him, drove to Utah to pick it up. I had bought stuff from him before so i trusted his word, being it was late and dark i didnt get a chance to fully look over the trans but it seemed in good shape. I told him i needed something to that i could just bolt right in in place of mine, he told me thats what this was and it had no issues.
Forward to about a week ago i get the money to have it installed and i get a call from the shop saying that the input shaft bearing is hammered and would need replaced also trans was missing most of the casing bolts, so i ended up having to put my old trans back in being i had to have the car.
I made several attempts to contact him , pm's left voice mails , texts with no reply. Finally i get a text back saying to call him around 7 which i did and still no answer. I dig a little info and get his parents number and call them. They claim to not talk to him and dont know how to get ahold of him. Got his work number and finally got in touch with him .
He claims that the bearing should of been replaced anyway and he figured i would of just used my casing bolts. I told him this was not right and i either need some money back or a refund being this isnt what the deal was. Now he is avoiding all my calls, messages etc.
I think im just going to call his work every day till i get some help, i really dont want to have to file a small claim but i may have to

EDIT: I received a PM from him stating: "What is your address? I'll get that shipped out right away, I just found the ziplock bag with that hardware. " So I'll post up if he makes good on it.

Well I wish I would have found this before I purchased a cylinder head from him with aftermarket springs and retainers. My Fiancee received the head the other day (I'm in Afghanistan on deployment) and she emailed me that it was missing the cam caps, missing the oil control cap, had the stock springs and retainers on it, had a baggie with a few "other" springs that were an incomplete set and she couldn't identify anything else with them. I have sent "Ethan", as his name shows up in paypal, a pm on here but still no replies yet. If he does reply I will gladly update everyone.

I'm sending out the caps tomorrow, I didn't realize that they weren't in the bag with the Brian Crower springs and retainers. BTW it's not an incomplete set, have her count the retainers and springs. They're far from stock, they say BC on the top of the retainer and the springs are twice as big as stockers. Not here to scam anybody.

I believe that RockmanX was actually defending you, which I will do also once all is good. I appreciate your open communication and prompt attention to this, I will have her recount the springs and retainers as soon as I can get ahold of her. Trust me, with a sales rating of over 100 I feel you on trying to make sure things are right for all parties involved, I'm sure no one thinks you are trying to screw anyone.
