take pic of this input shaft damage.. if you took it to a hillbilly side shop they probably damaged the shaft themselves ........... the evo trans doesn't exactly "slide right in" it takes tons of patience to get it lined up. plus how do you know they didn't try to hammer your shaft in and did it wrong? this is why i refuse to let anyone work on my evo unless its in my own garage. theres so many half ***'ed things you can do when working on these motors its scary... the only way to confirm its being done right is doing it yourself or with a friend thats experienced.

yes your right but one must process all the required tools and knowledge to do such a thing. others like me just have to pay the high cost for a reilable shop like buschur or awdmotorsports or ivey tune or evolution dynamics or english racing to do it known shops that put there name on the line so they dont want crappy service coming out of there bay and complaints. Oh almost forgot the shop as well
shop i went to does all the mitsu work in this area for clutches and what not, my trans went back in and there was no damage done to it, they didnt even get his tranny in cause they happen to see the damage before actually sliding the trans in. Bad thing is my trans was already out.
the damage im sure was done by him cause he couldnt get the TCase off he told me when i was trying to buy it my guess is they didnt have a slide hammer or something. that and the trans was missing almost all the the casing bolts only like 2-3 holding it together. I just wish that i hadnt bought it at night and got a better look at it but i was stupid for trusting his word on it so i guess that part is my fault

well you know if its just the shaft part (spline gear) you can replace that.. i don't see how someone could strip the gears out inside the trans so you might be still ok.
