New life for my 2003 VIII

I'm starting to think about the next life for my 132k mile VIII, or forget that car and start over with a new X. I'm making a WIP wish list for what would be necessary to breathe new life into my 2003, and what I would like for it to have. It would remain my daily driver, so the build would be not too wild; be a worthwhile improvement and upgrade the worn stuff.

- Rebuild the motor, with higher rate injectors, HKS 272 cams or similar.
- Tube headers and DP to mate up to existing hiflo cat and cat back.
- Possibly something like a BBK turbo, don't think I want to put the 132k mile unit back on. At least a rebuilt.
- Rebuilt transmission, the original is a horror story
- Walbro fuel pump
- Larger FMIC & related plumbing
- Open element air filter MAFS
- Whatever else I should get
- Tune
- Paint it if I don't spend too much

What does it vaguely cost to have Spec-Ops or someone build something like this (and an crude estimate on how long would it take)? I'm sitting on the funds making sure a new job takes, and need to find a time to be WO my Evo. If anyone can speculate a ball park HP from an incomplete list, I'd like to hear it.

Lets see, a buschur built engine with a good core is like 4k, install about 1k, a turbo kit about 2k, cams 500, injectors 500, exhaust 500, tranny 850-1500(buschur), fuel pump 100, FMIC 500, tune 500. About 12k and i might be on the low side.

Buy the "X". Beautiful, wicked even. Buy it in black, murder it out. Then get to the mods. There is SO MUCH development being done on this new platform. But of course- the 4g is a tried, tested, and proven model with decades of research. If you're looking for performance- stick with what you have. If you're looking for looks, updated model, and possible future performance to par- go with the new.

I got a X for sale, because I am going to buy a 2011/2012 at the end of this year.

Go with the X i think its a better all around car, unless of course you want 10,000 hp like Alex lol

Better off getting an X for a daily driver. You'll have a nice new car with 0 issues.

i didnt read your Q right. I have both my X and my 8. The X kills the 8/9 with handling and some creature comforts. But nothing like a built 8/9 with a nice turbo and a 4G63.

This. I'm honestly on the fence on looks, too. I really do like the IX look.
