It looks like the management of WORKS is back from vacation and is doing what he can to assist with the pricing situation. Thank you David!

From looking at his post this morning, the P1 pricing is going to remain at $499, and the P2 pricing drops to $599.

If this is the actual case, and our group discount is still in effect on these new prices, then I would defintely like to reserve a place in the group buy for a P2 reflash of my car on November 1st. I will call and confirm my order with WORKS as soon as the group discount pricing on P2 purchases is confirmed. N10S can you confirm the $540/$510/$480 (10%/15%/20% discount) pricing for us on the P2?

Thank you WORKS and N10S for helping us so much with this group buy!

Spike LS1-

I will give the Works guys a call today to confirm this is the case! In addition I will still do a re-count to make sure exactly where we stand with participants.

Let us know N10S!

Here's what WORKS posted:
"The new boost enhancement to the Brain Flash (known as the P2) will be available to current Brain Flash owners (all purchases pre-10/01/03) for the nominal cost of $50.

The cost of the P2 enhancement on all new Brain Flash orders (orders placed after 10/01/03) will be $100."

Since most of us put our deposits down before 10/1 (9/25 for me) does that mean we can ge the P2 for $550??? Then the discount on top of that?

Sorry to inform you but I will be backing out of the group buy for the Works brain flash. I am going to be purchasing the AEM EMS instead of using the Emanage with the Works reflash for RPM limitor increase. I will not be making it to the Dyno Day either as there is no definiative release date for the EMS, and as soon as it goes in I have to get some custom intercooler piping made, custom pipes for the HKS RS suction kit as I will not have a MAF sensor any more, and my cams have not come in yet either.

Do I have to call Works and inform them that I will not be part of the group buy anymore?

kcevo-

Sorry to hear that you wont be able to make the event! As far as the gb goes, you just need to contact them and let them know as soon as possible. Do me a favor and let me know once you have completed your discussion with Works, and I will update the list.

Sounds like your going to be making some major upgrades, so you will have to keep us posted of your progress! Sure you can't just make the gtg? Oh well one way or the other we will catch-up sometime!

Spike LS1-

Just confirming that the original discount structure does apply, and the numbers you listed are correct! Let me know if you are a go and confirm once you have called Works!

Thanks for the nice words, and a sincere thanks to you for hanging in!

N10S,

I did call WORKS and confirm today with my CC #, so I should be good to go for the P2.

Due to the other obligations the date of dynoday I will probably need to drop by that morning and get the ECU reflash (and maybe get the part installed if there is time) and then take off rather than getting the full dyno time deal and hanging around for the festivities :-( I have a wedding and reception to go to that day... Do you know yet when flashing and dynotuning will start? Maybe if it starts early I could be one of the first ones in line?? :-) and be done by 11am or so?

Thanks again!

Spike

Does anyone from the Chicago area want to meet up and Caravan down there together?

So far we have EVO-Bill, Martin from AMS, Possibly RENN-ART, and myself.

I have to leave for a business trip the following Monday so I will be driving back that night.

I am thinking that you should be able to get in and out early without any issues. Family and friend activities can tend to really soak up some time, but they should always remain your priority!

I will update the confirmed list on the new thread..

Thanks again!!

hi, N10S, what is your name?

also, how much do you think we need to pay for the dyno on that day,

plus, do u have wideband O2 for tuning over there in your shop?
what is the rate for tuning?

also, do u think P2 is competible with aftermaket Camgears or Cam shafts?

Hi Ben-

The name is Jeff...

The dyno costs are going to be in the $50-60 range I would imagine based on the day use costs, and the number of people signed-up for the dyno. This is part of the reason I am trying to get a final count for the gb.

Turbopoo2000 can probably answer the wideband question for sure, but knowing Ron/Axis racings hard-core tuning approach, I am fairly certain he has a wideband 02 tool. The P2 is not going to be a tune it sort of solution, but instead more of a pre-built re-flash map that will be down-loaded into your ecu. It will also come with a new restrictor hose that will have to be installed at the time of upgrade as well.

I have heard that Works is in the process of evaluating cam upgrades, and an optimized "cam" re-flash. I have not heard this specifically from Works but from some other Works customers usually in the know. Now as to whether or not you can run a set of cams with the current P2 re-flash? I can't really say, and until someone tries it we will not know for sure. I would think it would be possible, but the timing maps have been adjusted by Works, so perhaps the cams would be more of an issue with the new program than with the stock ecu maps. maybe they would work better? Ijust don't have a good answer, but as I mentioned I can ask the question and let you know.

How do we drive down there?.. We could meet somewhere along the way.. otherwise we could just meet at AMS and start from there...

Basically we will be driving down I-55 South for a long time.

EVO-Bill,

At first I thought that meeting @ the Hinsdale Oasis would work out, but we will be on the opposite sides you going South me going North. We may need to rethink that one.

What about meeting somewhere on Kingery near the I-55 Exit?
