SpikeLS1- I am trying to show any additional components as a seperate item. When I originally talked with David, he mentioned that a purchase could be a re-flash, or a throttle body, or exhale.
I have slt listed twice, once for the re-flash and the second for the throttle body. I will confirm with Works that this is ok, but the bottom line is that it is a money spent sort of situation at the end of the day.
Sano- The main difference between the XEDE and the Works Re-flash is that the XEDE is a add-on piggy-back (now with a plug-and play harness)that can be programmed by the user.
The Works re-flash is a pre-set performance map(either 91 or 93 octane available) that can be optimized to work with other mods such as exhaust and throttle body today. The original Brain re-flash that just re-maps the fuel and timing is still available, and the new boost control version is now available. As an original Works re-flash customer, I can tell you the results have been excellent and I have put over 4k miles on my car since re-flashing with absolutely no bad drivability experiences, and only positive performance gains! It's also the most stealthy of all mods, with no physical changes noticeable.
The Works group is currently working on other optimized ECU tuned solutions and will continue to offer their customers additional flexibility to add items like an intake, full turbo-back exhaust, and cams in the future. You can certainly use other mods with the Works ECU re-flash as their are more than a few out there running turbo-backs, intakes, Pulleys, etc.... .
Hope this helps!

Sano,
If you get reflashed with your level of mods currently, then add something like a turbo back, intake, throttle body, cams, etc...
you will more than likely have to get a reflash again.
But I am under the impression that once you pay for one reflash, P1 or P2, the additional reflashes for new mods are significantly cheaper than the first reflash cost. The only thing that makes it hard is if they have a reflash made for you type of mods, which you are in the midwest and they are on the west coast and once you add something that will effect the current flash you will have to mail them the ecu w/o being able to tune it on a dyno or the street with a wideband o2 like you will be able to at Axis Racing. I think N10S mentioned that they are working on a reflash for new cams.
You might want to check with Works to confirm that the P1 or P2 flashes are for completely Stock Evo's or for ones that have an intake and exhaust (downpipe only, downpipe + high flow cat, full turbo back, etc...).

Definately would be, I wouldn't raise it any higher than 7850 - 8000. Had a long discussion with Mark at Quantum Racing about this, unless you have done more internal work than just cams and cam gears.Originally posted by RENN-ART

I see you have the SAFC II, I will be selling my E-manage with ignition and injector harnesses and support software that was never installed, because I am going with the AEM unit. If you are interested let me know. Also will be selling my EVC V, used for 3 weeks now.

I wanted to let folks know that I have confirmed with David, that any purchase of a P1 or P2 brain re-flash automatically comes with one free re-flash upgrade. This was also the case with the original release of the P1, but the P2 didn't fit this model because it did incorporate additional hardware and completely revised timing, fuel, and boost mapping as opposed to simple tuning optimization of an existing product.
Whether you go with the P1 or P2 reflash, the initial value is that you will have corrected the rich factory fuel mapping, and have also optimized the timing against that new fuel map, as well as having a new rev limit. If you go with the new P2, you also have a new boost map that holds 19.0 psi to redline, and timing and fuel management are recalibrated for the best results. In addition the Works product solutions also come with a 3 yr warranty as well.
Going with a Works Re-flash doesn't necessarily mean you are limited to using only Works performance upgrades. Tx evo is a good example of a guy that has been running a full turbo-back exhaust w/3" cat, a set of underdrive pulleys, an Mbc, and the Works 93 octane P1. His posted dyno numbers were 289 whp if I recall correctly. Btw- Although there are many examples of other parts working well with the Works re-flash, Works is not going to promote or guarantee the use of any other companies parts simply because they don't dyno test using other manufacturers parts, and are not in a business position to do so.
Although the addition of cams could certainly benefit from an optimized re-flash solution, there is no negative data that indicates you couldn't add a set of cams to a Works re-flash equipped car any more than if you were adding them to a stock ecu equipped car. Hopefully we will get more info on that in the future, as someone will either try it, or Works will release additional information as they review future upgrade options. Sorry I can't provide any definitive answer on that one, other than "stay tuned".
Alternatively speaking, having a single tuner solution with parts that are specifically optimized through ECU tuning is a great option for many people. This ensures guaranteed and repeatable results that help minimize the exposure of experiencing problems as the result of mismatched components.
Stand-alones and programmable piggy-backs seem like an excellent option on the surface because they represent flexibility in the hands of the user. In reality they demand an owner that is technically adept, as well as having the financial wherewithall and time availability to achieve optimal tuning results through dyno testing. Don't get me wrong, this kind of solution may absolutely be perfect for a specific cross-section of owners who are technically capable, but unless you really know what you are doing, and have the time and money to spend dyno-tuning your car you could easily head down a path that might require a lot more effort than anticipated.
In closing I would mention that Works is currently developing a network of distributors across the US, and the concept of being able to get Works products and upgrades at a local/regional level will hopefully become a reality in the future.
Hope this info helps.

The rev-limit re-flash is a part of this gb, as are all of the Works products. We hope to get enough people to at least get the 15% discount, and if we hit 20 participants we will all enjoy a 20% discount!!
Let me know if you are interested!

Just confirmed some additional news regarding the Works Gb and dyno-day activity. Originally I had hoped that multiple product purchases would count individually against the gb discount structure and getting Works on-site. In speaking with David this morning, their position is that although all of the Works products are included in the discount opportunity, each participant can only be counted once. According to David it is less about the amount spent and more about the desire to drive participation as a collective group.
On a very positive note I have also confirmed that David and Works, realizing the effort and enthusiasm surrounding the St.Louis Dyno day, have committed to being on site even though we have not yet hit the 10 participant requirement!! This is great news and David has already made travel arrangements to be on site. Hopefully this helps people feel more confident in participating in the event, knowing that Works will be on-site and that the whole shipping and car down-time is a non-issue.
My personal thanks to David and Works on this note, as this truly makes the gb and on-site re-flashing an absolute reality!
Thanks to the rest of you as well for your continued participation and support!

what is the price now for p2?
no discount if less 10 people?
what awhp do we expect to get, seriously?
i have octane 94 here in town, does p2 prefer 93 only?
thanks

Right now we are at the 10% discount level which means $540 for the P2 re-flash. If we can confirm a few more we jump to the 15% discount level which would equate to $510 for the reflash.
If we hit 20 people we will receive a 20% discount which would be $480 for the reflash. Remember, no shipping costs either if you are on site for the dyno day/gtg! This is a $50-60 savings in of itself! Again, the discounts apply to all Works products, not just the re-flash products!
The original P1 93 octane provided an improvement of 26 whp . I believe the P2 results in an improvment of 10whp over the original P1. Although the programming is based on 93 octane (or 91 if thats what you need!) 94 certainly won't hurt matters, and performance won't be negatively impacted thats for sure!!!

Take a look at this page(5) of this thread:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...5&pagenumber=5
If you read down the page you will find a post by turbopoo2000 that confirms directions and also provides his contact number. We will make sure to get several contact numbers out to folks before the event.
Btw- Thanks for confirming!
