i didn't star this thread to be a bashing of the OP... I started this thread to warn people who are looking to mod their MR I don't need to hear all the BS from everyone in regards to not feeling sorry for me. I'm not asking for that. I am letting you know that maybe think twice before moding an MR!!!!!

I a aware that a GSR clutch is not indestructable, but at least a clutch is $1700 not $12000....

For the people who actually care and want to know, i have launched the car once, and figured that was not a good idea. I treated the car well, and i genuinly guess this is wear and tear due to my power handling. The car now has 14000 miles on it, and it was never tracked.

I will keep everyone updated (I dont need to hear from the haters, thank you.... )

Sorry to hear bud, how much power are you putting down with your mods?

Keep us posted on your warranty claim. Good luck.

You've obviously not the brightest crayon in the box if you think you're going to get away with this scam on Mitsu. You think they don't read these boards and can't put this scenario together?

It will be interesting to watch you get denied.

For all the horror stories that I hear with Mitsu and warranty work, I hope it works out for the OP. The universe has to balance, no?

I find it comical how many people come in bashing, knowing full well, 95% of you would be doing the same. Personally, I know friends of this poster, and even with the mods he has, he is no where near the threshold of the tranny, with regard to torque. Having two relatives who do R&D for the worldest largest sports car producers, the ranges they give to customers and the true ranges are far apart. Personally, I feel it was a defect that was accelerated due to his mods. However, have no doubt, they woudl have failed in the standard car, but not as soon.

Again, as a MR owner with as much power as the poster, I know the risk I run, and that is fine. I pay to play. I have decided not to track the car, but I do drive it regularly, and to date, it has performed flawlessly. I even go as far as to warm it up, manually shifting, to bring things up to temp, before turning it over to the TCM. I have found, if I do the warm up, the drive around is much smoother, than if I let the TCM manage the warmup protocol.

All that aside ... don't bash the poster ... he seems to know what he has gotten himself into, and if what others have stated about him is true, he will be more than willing to meet in the middle.

Believe it or not, everybody else on this board isn't a deceitful snakes like the two of you apparently are. A few other people have voiced disapproval of the OP's tactics.

Your name is John, right? I recognize your sn from some type of racing you did with AMS and it's disappointing to see that you aren't more above board about this, as the OP should be.

If he truly knows what he has gotten himself into, why is he misrepresenting himself? For that matter, if he wanted the best diagnosis, as he's previously stated, then he should let the car go in for inspection in the condition that he drove it so that they could consider the impact that the modifications had on the clutch wear. He's obviously trying to defraud MMNA, and he's most likely going to get caught.

I've got no burning passion for MMNA, having been on the receiving end of a lot of their BS, but OP is clearly seeking more than he should ever be entitled to, and it's going to be funny to watch him fail.

Now, how about you go find a cause worth supporting and leave the cheats to get what they deserve, mhkay?

Thank you Stop&TurnFreak. Youre right i know what i am getting myself into, and i really don't mind if mitsu don't warrenty this. Bottom line i AM GETTING A GSR. I love the fact you think you cant drive as an MR is just push and go..... I am to blame in this situation, but i wrote this thread to make sure that everyone with an MR is aware.... That is it.

But thank you everyone for your input it has all been apreciated....

This is not the 1st mr tans down to say the least nor the last. I have seen them go with no or very limited mods just from hard driving within the 1st 1500 miles. And yes even tho it had to be driven very hard to duplicate one of the concerns it was still taken care of under warranty.

If your hoping to get the trans covered under waranty, YOU SHOULD NOT BE POSTING THIS ON THE INTERNET! I'm sure the Chicago area Mitsu district service manager is now wiating to hear about an MR transmission issue.

144mph: Richard Dawkins is brilliant, I wish more people would subscribe to his way of thinking... (not trying to go off topic, PM me if you care to respond)

I'm trying to understand how you're not trying to screw Mitsubishi by scamming them into giving you the free diagnosis on your modded car. Leave the mods on there and pay for them to look at your transmission.

Quote: Post links to other MR tranny failures. Put up or shut up.
Here's a link to the RA that has the same tranny. It was unmodded and presented a different set of symptoms but went out none the less. RA tranny failure
