You can't possibly be serious. It's people like you that make it rediculously hard to get legitimate warranty claims completed.

"... its an EVO and the SST is supposed to hold power so F THEM...."

Really?!

"and i and doing the same to my SST... I will have 320 in the next two months and i do launch the car and even drift with it... like someone said you need to pay to play but not MITSU..."

MMNA is not responsible for your incompetence.

"i payed 45k for the car and thats all MITSU is getting from me..."

You bought the car not a car and 2 transmissions.

A sentence ends with one period.

To the OP, I would do the same thing if I was in your situation, you buy 40K car only to have it break under mild modification's. Its not like they made the evo after a rally car, lol. They advertise the car like its race car, what do you expect?

Im gald they fixed you're car, and good luck with the gsr, thats if you still plan on getting one...
So you buy a $40k car and what part of that guarantees parts for life? Where is the limit? How about when you take it beyond it's intended limit which in this case is anything beyond factory settings/limits.

You say, "They advertise the car like its race car, what do you expect?!" You think race cars are indestructible? They replace parts all the time, but they don't try to return it to stock and take it to the closest dealer to try to save money.

I'm sorry that everyone in this thread seems to feel hard done by. I feel this thread has lost it's first cause which was to warn people how far to push the trans.

I can't see how launching the car and drifting the car is going to help you. You will easily break your transmission and other thing on the car by the sound of it. Good luck, i'm glad you're enjoying your car, but i don't think the MR was made to hold that kind of driving? You are right, you pay to play, but you pay a lot more when your driving habits are irratic.

Check your MAF sensor. There is a recall on it and will cause your tranny to shift funny and cause it to slip. There is a poster that had the same problem. Also don't left foot brake when you are still on the gas it also causes the clutch to slightly disengage causing wear. It is weird but very true. You may not have to do anything to the tranny.

My 2 cents

Wow after reading this thread my head is spinning, I guess the average MR owner is more faggy then the GSR. Big deal he got a new tranny, its still under warranty. The dealer makes money for the work. The guys that do the work for the dealer feed their families, the tranny company in germany makes money, employs people. Fedex makes money shipping trannies back and forth. Its a win/win. Without some broken trannies mitsu cant have them built better.

There is? I mean, there's a recall on MAF sensors? Got a TSB for this?

Congratulations, you've fallen into the broken window fallacy.

It wouldn't be the first time a gearbox is replaced when something was actually the fault.

well of course mitsu get screwed in all of this. They know the evo market is about modding, they themselves sent AMS a MR to get modded. I will do some light modding, I dont have the time to deal with getting a new tranny. Overall I dont think Mitsu will get to many highly abused SST trannies as most guys that want big hp know to go with the GSR.

Mitsubishi has given AMS an MR to modify? so AMS will be coming up with SST modifications.
For Philam, Congrats, do you have the SSP oil cooler? Would help.

There's only one way to find out the limits.... and that's the hard way unfortunately.

you know all these failures and cores going back to Germany and Japan means that in a few years Mitsu's are going to have some bad-*** SST manu-matics....

That sucks. I wish that I got the gsr model just because it's manual. Wish the mr came as a manual
