IMHO since the floor is meant to smoothe/accelerate the air under the car, a deformation shouldn't matter to the extent that at our level we will notice. i think it would become an issue as you bring the car closer to the ground tho and reduce the actual volume of air under the car which in my mind would make it more sensitive. but of course this is all my opinion/theory and i have nothing to back it up.

im curious to see pics of your setup tho and how you attached it to the car. wanna send me pics and ill get em posted for you?

LOL, I watched all 52 minutes of it Just kidding, but I did post up a question for them pasted here:

Lets have the results please. What was learned? What was changed or going to be changed to correct inefficient, non laminar flow? Thumbs up on the VID
Track day prepped EVO owner & Im interested

before that car was wrecked they made some significant aero changes. due to the tuft testing? i dunno.

you can see the draft from the truck taking downforce off the nose which is pretty cool.

We never used the video for much. In retrospect, I'd only tuft small areas at a time and research what's working in certain spots. Make a change. Retest and see the results.

We crashed the car shortly after this and had to rebuild from scratch. The new car is complete and I want to test a few areas to make sure they are working as expected, but we can't until warmer weather arrives.

Dan

P.S. See the photos attached for a V1.0 of our redesigned car. Testing will commence soon to learn what changes we need to make.

Doing the whole car seems like a good idea seeing how changes on one area can affect others.

Thanks for the reply Dan. Aero testing is labor intensive & revealing details is not advisable in certain cirlces like EVOm

Car looks great & now on my work screen saver

It would be interesting to see how the VG works with that high a rear wing. My theory is that the VG either makes no difference or (in a worst case) is a detriment to that wing since its whole purpose was to push air unto a stockish height spoiled. It's now pushing air under that wing is my guess.

The bottom of the wing is more important to creating downforce than the top is. So more flow under the bottom of the wing is more beneficial than over it.

I have zero issues revealing details on the car, the problem is, we weren't very scientific about the aero approach. Hopefully as we tweak the new car we can give more concrete info. Please feel free to ask any questions and I will answer to the best of my ability! One note is the new blown diffuser really works!! How well is a question mark, but by the seat of the pants it is noticeable.

Not if the air that is getting pushed is so far under the wing that it doesn't affect the air flow by the wing or affects it in very minimal ways. That's why it would be interesting to see it empirically tested.
