EVO Aerodynamics Review
nah, that would suck. i'd often pop the hood to to check oil, let engine cool, drain catch can ect. that one piece bumper hood cant be that light and probably too large for one person to handle.
It's actually far easier on everything, in CF form the one on a mustang is only 12 lbs and that's a bit larger then an Evo version. It's stiff enough you get it close then drag it into position, pop down 4 hood latches and strap to the undertray (haven't figured that part out yet) and done.
I spent all of 14/15 winter learning how to work with composites in my home garage. I've never done any body work before, so it was quite the jump into the deep end.
It came out decent, but a lot will be fixed/changed this season to make it a bit nicer. The front bumper protruded out too far, so I will cut and replace with aluminum panel.
Infusion is tough, and I had trouble keeping a perfect seal on the bagging material, so a few items got a little messed up. All in all, it works, and it isn't pretty, but you won't be able to notice it under a wrap.
The door skin weighs in at 2.6#'s; as you can see, she has no problem holding it.

nice job. you will only get better with time ! I was thinking of creating a mold of the roof and doing carbon fiber roof myself instead of dropping 1k + for AMS...
I love DIY stuff. Thats what I watch most on youtube lol..

The OEM panels weren't bad. The molds came out pretty good for the doors, but since I lost vacuum pressure, the final product was a little off. It was the panels I had to create, though, that were the PITA.
Making sure things were symmetrical was the hardest part. Fenders, rear overs, trunk with lip and the hood. The hood was a nightmare. Never intergrate louvers into a mold. Just add them to a blank hood afterwards...f*ck. Lol.
Testing will tell. I just want to take down my old personal bests/records, and I'll be happy.

Been pondering getting into fiber myself but like you said it take some years to master.
