Thanks - coming from the Champ!

No back to back yet, I suspect each will have their strengths, but man the toyos are softer than 710s!

Thanks Marshman, Dave and George.

Did you see how careful - slow I was in the last turn around, on the final run against Hollis?!! I wasn't about to take myself out again.

Funny how 7 years of regrettable ProSolo mistakes can be instantly changed to positive learning experiences!

hah, we thought for sure you heard us screaming at you that you didn't have that much of a lead to slow down that much. You dropped the hammer coming out of the turn around.

I heard today he coned his last run. I could've lost it!
I did go flat early out of the slalom and went safe around the finish turn.
Think I won $400? Not that it matters, I would have paid for that hat and license plate!

Hey John,

You seem to do pretty good in your '03.

No big changes and we have no off season out here. I took '07 easy as a rebuilding year, changed some spring rates and maxed out the exhaust. Mostly wanted to focus on improving the driving by trying new things. Did learn to LFB, but still slower for me.

The '03 has some advantages IMHO. Quicker spooling turbo, more predictable dumb center diff, lighter? Isely said he used to mess with his car every year, but he got faster by learning to drive better on a consistent set-up.

In STU, the potential of the IX's Turbo can't be utilized, unlike BSP. Silencer and Geoff are fast in their '03s.

Nicely done Rick, good to see that the '03's still have some fight left in them!

Were you on the new star spec's or the old compound?

On the new shaved Star Spec's for the ProSolo, and the car won the Tour on the older Z1s on full tread.

Whoah...that's light. I might have to get mine on a scale. The previous owner of my IX RS said he found some certificate from Mitsu in my car that said it weighed 3150 lbs. He hasn't been able to find that again to give to me though. Oh well.

My RS feels very light. I ran STU this weekend because I was trying out a maf adapter/open K&N which I'll be removing and going back to AS. It was just for fun and I ran out of time to remove it.

Anyone know how many USDM IX RSs were produced? Yes...I've searched.

My car is so light it almost tipped over.

My boss just bought the new Star Specs for his M3 because of that finish.

Depends on track layout. I prefer around 39f and 37r cold to start then go from there but I almost almost change up or down depending on weather/track layout.

Thanks I got this too late tho.

I just ran 35x4. It was a rain day so I figured to let the tires lay down in better.

Man this car is awesome on the autox. it feels like it weighs 500lbs less than it does. Only thing is the rear axle just bangs into the floor on shifts and launches... I bet you guys know the fix for that by now ?

One other thing was I did a fast release at 4K on launch and just smoked the clutched. I lowered my launch rpm to 3K because I didnt want to burn the clucth up. The car is pretty new to have a soft clutch so I am thinking that the restrictor pill is 'helping' me out. do you guys fast release that have pills or do you just drop it ? or should I just remove the pill and launch it like any other AWD....

Thanks

I usually blip the throttle at about 4-4.5k to give me a little boost and do just a very quick slip...usually enough to take out very smooth or even a little tire chirp. Don't slip it too much. The rear axle clunk usually from 1st-2nd can be fixed by changing the diff bushings to Works, Whiteline, Beatrush, etc. Sometimes I have heard front motor mount helps too...there is a pretty big thread on it in here. Btw you ran 35f/r cold? Do you have a RSB?

yes I ran 35 f/r and never adjusted so it may have went up but it was bone chilling and wet (40F) so I didnt even bother to check.

My only mod is the GTWorks springs and I flipped the bolts and had the car aligned. I am waiting for Buschar to tune but they are backlogged. I had some real nice car rotation and understeer was more driver induced. I think I will wait till a dry day before pulling the trigger on a rsb for now....

I see that he has the rear diff mounts I may try them. The car was banging on shifts pretty violently.
