When you go to sticky tires typically, or if you have the engine apart/pan off it's one of those "while you're in there" mods.

Quote: I've been monitoring and data logging pretty much every parameter on my car all year with my T/A car. If you guys who actually track your car saw what oil pressures your motor is seeing, you would be scarred for it.

I used to run the ams/moroso oil pan with an accusump. i've tried pretty much every race oil on the market. Different weight oils did effect the oil pressure. After changing a few things with this setup, i was able to raise the lowest pressure i used to see(8psi) to 16psi.

At multiple tracks, I've logged oil pressures in the single digits multiple times within 1 lap. After changing a few things with this setup, i was able to raise the lowest pressure i used to see(8psi) to 16psi. It happens more often when hitting 1.5 to 1.6 g's or above. I do run the stickiest tires available, Hankook z214 C91's.
tc17 hasn't been on evom for over a year, so I doubt he'll respond, but can anyone else who's carefully logged oil pressure on the track share what weight oil worked best for maintaining oil pressure through longer, high-G right-hand turns?

Theres a lot of information and different views on keeping oil pressure in this thread. Is their a definitive solution path figured out yet? Something that doesn't require a full drysump if we only care about HPDE and autox.

So far it seems that the baffled pans are marginal in help, kiggly HLA helps a bit, and heavier oil?

So, how to the race teams handle this? CBRD? He road races evos, what does he run?

That's where I'd start, personally.

I'm a casual track driver, so I'm going to try the HLA + Baffled pan now that I'm ready for r-comps.

What you can do? - Wetsump pan, heavier oil, hla, accusump, don't run really sticky tires, and avoid tracks with high speed/sustained right hand sweepers.

Soon there will be a solution on the market (read drysump) that won't be much more expensive than doing all of that. That being said I wouldn't run a drysump in a street driven car.

^Add to that list a crank scrapper and overfilling by .5-1qt

There has got to be a better solution other than stepping up to a dry sump...

I think MAP is working on a drysump kit for the Evo, might be what he's referring to.

I can't say anything about who is developing it or official release dates, but I will have one of the first two pre-production kits in my hands in the next month or so

You better put up a thorough and intelligent review of it, when you've had the ability to try it on track, or I might have to come out to SD, steal your car, and go test it out myself...

Haha. There will be lots of pics and video/logs. I'm just hoping AIMsports stays with their 'new' ship date on the aim mxl2 which is slated for around when I should have the car back together.

It's a personal preference thing. Just seems a little over the top on street for me.

Can they be run successfully on the street? Yes. Would I? No.

I'm guessing this is the MAP Dry Dump kit that they've been posting teaser pics of.

I just recently added a Kiggly and Cosworth Crank Scrapper, but have yet to test to see if its an improvement. I'll be sure to post up the before/after logs.
