I emailed and called Howard Duncan (head of Pro Solo).. and asked to have a few questions clarified, as strategy always is a part of our sport... no response to either emails nor calls... So I pulled my registration... Doing the Tour the following week..
Shame, really wanted to run the Pro. GL! Try to make Corey earn it.

I wish I was going to the Toledo Pro so that I could run against Corey again, in my own car this time. Glad I did Blytheville instead though, the new format for Toledo pretty much sucks. Not to mention that I was able to lock down the Midwest Championship while I was out there.
Congrats again to Geoff for the Packwood wins as well. Can't wait for Lincoln.

Debating the "hardship runs" thing? Yeah, it is going to be a mess, unless of course registrations drop back down to 250 due to all the turnover...
Yeah John... if your runs are Friday, but you'd rather run Saturday (maybe Friday is raining, Saturday looks to be dry).. you just don't show up Friday.. and you take your 'hardship runs' Saturday, and according to Mr. Duncan's email.. they WILL count... but talking with other long-time pro-solo folks.. he has been known to 'change' his mind mid event if something like that occurs.. meaning you may not get the runs at all, or your runs from Saturday wouldn't count after all.
I basically emailed him and requested a 'solid' set of rules so competitors know what to expect. An event a couple years back Howard evidently changed a bunch of rules on the fly at the event, upset a LARGE number of competitors... and sent an apology letter to every attendee after the fact, I requested that he not repeat that process.

Reason I asked to have it clarified... competitors should KNOW The rules of the event PRIOR to the event... not have good runs pulled on the whim of a single individual..........
Again, hope to see a few folks at the Peru Tour next weekend... don't see a lot of familiar names there.

AFAIK, Pro has always been the redheaded stepchild of Solo. But it's fun so we all deal with it
we actually have talked about doing just that locally, some regions do that for their 'pro/pax' class... then the remaining runs can be in each other's car... for fun, ride-a-longs, etc.
