Really disappointed to hear F1 is moving to NBC in the future, Speed has and does a great job IMO. I just hope NBC won't screw it up and ruin the coverage of a sport I have grown to love.
As for quali, glad to see Weber get the pole over Seb. Hopefully Kimi will be able to move up
from 5th on the grid.

It's disappointing to learn that F1 has elected to move forward with a different media partner. SPEED had been the US voice of F1 since the mid '90s, and it was a passion for many people at the network. FOX Sports Media Group made what we believed to be a fiscally responsible bid based on the sport's current viewership levels, but F1 has elected to go in another direction. We wish them well. - FOX Sports Media Group spokesman

I always used to watch the Speed coverage until we got the BBC feed for quali and the race from TSN here in Canada. I still always watch Speeds coverage of 2nd practice though so it'll be a shame not to watch that anymore. There's a potential chance that NBC could really take the coverage to the next level but I kinda doubt that happening as well. Hopefully they keep David Hobbs as a commentator, always liked his random comments. On the plus side it kinda shows that F1 is growing. A few years ago none of the major TV channels would've even considered picking up the F1 license.
Wow, watching F1 debrief Weber was to blame on that accident. Feel bad for Grojan on that one. Mark, you are racing, keep you damn foot on the gas. Nobody near you in the turn and you slow down suddenly? Weber is a green light nutcase.. You are driving a superior car, you are a vet in F1 and you are the only one that can't seem to go when you are supposed to go?
Awww poor Hamilton, Button not following you on Twitter? Grow up you twit.
And Korea is a disgrace to F1. Grandstands empty. Lots of fans around the world that don't have a race close enough to see a race in real life and these guys don't even show up.

Getting a little tired of Vettel dominance again... Pretty good battle with Hami and Kimi in the middle of the race, other than that I'd say it was the worst race of the year.
Superb race by Red Bull. Seb did his usual stellar driving and Mark held his own even if his start wasn't the best. I was really amazed by Massa's race. Clearly, he could have passed Alonso had there not been team orders. Hopefully, this will cement his position on the team for 2013. Lewis had a horrible race and somehow looked hapless, no doubt to the suspension failure.
And, Kobay has gone from hero to zero. What a boneheaded move on Button. Seriously, people complain about Grosjean, but Kobay is no saint either. Speaking of Grosjean, it would appear that his incident with Webber may have indeed been caused by Webber slowing up too much, causing Grosjean to hit him.
With 4 races left, the end of the season should be quite entertaining. Red Bull seems to have edge right now. I would dearly love to see Seb win his 3rd championship. I am sure that Ferrari will put up a good fight and with Massa on form, they should probably ace out McLaren for the manufacturer's championship. On to India.

Wait, stop the presses. Is this true? This is the worst news I think I have ever read since I have been following F1. I suppose this had to happen. Speed is going to become an all sports channel, much like ESPN. I was worried about racing coverage. Now I know. And yes, NBC will screw up the coverage, plus, there is no way they will cover practice and qualifying for the weekend. And, no more special F1 programming. Folks, the end of the world is near...
For the race, pretty good. Hami really suffered on those soft tires, loved watching him fall back the way he did. Hell of a race for Massa as well, that podium really seemed to work some magic in his head. That was great when Smedley came on the radio and said "you're too close to Fernando, back off a couple of seconds". Felipe must have been all smiles inside that helmet.
"Alonso, Massa is faster than you, I repeat Massa is faster than you" Poor Massa. He could have stomped Alonso. Too soon to tell for sure, but maybe that podium did bring his confidence back enough where he starts to take down Alonso. That would be great for Massa. Not sure how Ferrari will handle it though.
What I do know is Seb is on his way to being the next Michael. Barring any mechanical problems I think he has this. Of course I wll expect Ferarri and McLaren to start finding things to claim cheating. But that's just the way they are. Gotta be hard for the Team and fans to see two extablished teams getting taken down by such a new team.
Poor Lewis, to see what is basically the end of his career running down that straight with a cheap piece of Home Depot carpeting hanging off the side of his car isn't the way he wanted to be remebered. This is his last season to win a race. He better make the best of it.

That's my fear as well. We won't get all the programming we do now. I like watching Quali and P2, hell I stream P1 when I can. I also enjoy Debrief and Chalk Talk. As for the commentators, I enjoy all three. Sure they get the guys names wrong at times, but they have great personalities and that to me goes a long way.

Sounds like NBC will be broadcasting all F1 races live with additional streaming options. I already watch IndyCar on NBC (fka VS) so adding F1 doesn't sound too bad to me and it should save me $8/month as I don't have to pay for the dumba$$ Comcast sports package to get SpeedTV. Hopefully NBC will retain at least Matchett and Hobbs. Rumor has it that Speed is done anyways, going to be changed to a more general sports channel - for the most part good riddance, IMO, although it will suck not to have DTM races aired on TV anymore.

I'll have to look into whether or not I'll need the ExtremeHD package to get the NBC Sports channel (I know I have it now). I'm assuming thats what it will be broadcast on, I don't see it being broadcast on the regular nbc 10.
