No need to worry about Alonso beating Seb. Seb got moved to the back of the grid because his car ran out of fuel. Funny how the stewards decided that Ferrari was not in contravention of the rules regarding the curfew, yet decided to exclude Seb from the qualifying results. As for the curfew, Ferrari used two in one weekend. http://formula-one.speedtv.com/artic...-curfew-twice/

Ferrari was not in violation of any rules. All teams are allowed to break curfew four times per season.

This is also entirely consistent with what happened to HAM earlier this year.

You and I both know that that is not the issue. The issue was over having two curfew jokers at the same race, which is unprecedented.

I totally agree with you guys. Button and Perez are no Hamilton, Vettel, Alonso or Hulkenberg. Why Hulkenberg? Because of what he did with a non competitive Williams in 2010. He put in on the pole @ Interlagos in tricky wet and dry conditions where everyone was struggling. The Hulk was MONEY and that drive was amazing. The track was dry during the race and the top teams easily passed him, but this driving talent shows brilliance.

IMHO, the difference is, Button and Perez don't have that level of talent. I really like Button as a driver but I'm going to call it as I see it. They are only fast if the car setup suits them.

IMHO, Perez just got lucky this year and his team mate, Kobay, was very unlucky due to strategy and mishaps. McLaren may come to regret this decision, next year. But we will see ...

Couldn't happier about Seb starting in the pits. That should keep that title race exciting for the rest of us and if Alonso and Seb have horrible finishes, Hami may actually have a shot. As for Ferrari getting a break on curfew, the stewards followed the regulations to a T. So I don't see a problem, yea it may have been meant one way (multiple days during an event) during earlier discussions but unless it is put in writing it doesn't mean squat.

^ Hopefully, Grosjean does his starting magic and knocks Fred out of the race!

Tough break for Seb but at least the stewards are staying consistent now since the exact same thing happened to Hami in Spain earlier this year. Alonso needs to make it onto the podium or hopefully a lucky race win.

Whats the issue? Your allowed 4 and they used 2, I don't see the problem to be honest with you...

IMO thats the right move by the FIA. They did it to Lewis, Seb should be no different.

Hami should win this thing tomorrow if the car doesn't let him down.

PS: Weber qualified above Vettel, I wonder how Uscbryan is taking that piece of news.

Yes, I understand that the meaning of the word "individual" as well as you do. Per FIA regs and in that context, that leaves ambiguity enough to allow one to believe it refers to a GP or to the joker itself.

Obviously that's up to the stewards and its irrelevant, really, because just as we saw earlier this year with Red Bull's shady engine mapping, if the FIA does not explicitly ban/sanction something, it will be exploited.

Again, four curfew breaks are allowed and Ferrari simply took two. Also again, HAM was penalized the same way VET was today--for the same reason.

If I'm honest, I don't really care too much about him but I care less about VET. He's got a fantastic car and others like HAM, ALO and most of all, RAI have been driving worse cars, struggling yet persevering and really showing their skill. RAI has completed 100% of laps in this season, struggling with that underpowered lotus with its double DRS and KERS issues but he's a trooper as HAM with gearbox and steering wheel issues, and ALO with aero and anti-roll bar issues, have been.

Not to say VET is garbage or that his car is perfect, but he has a tremendous car. Kathikeyan could be put in that thing and dominate everyone so its refreshing to see that the RB8 and its engineers aren't completely impervious to errors.

What's funny is that could actually happen.

C. Kobayashi's podium matched RBR/Mclaren's pit stop strategy. No tire drop off gambling. Koba out raced a Mclaren without using 20s pit stop buffer.

By facts he is better than Perez. But X-Factor?

D. He was the only guy overtaking before the DRS every other race... while guys in those season had a hand full of on track overtakes."

You don't still think that Kobay is better than Perez, or at least has outperformed him this season right?! Perez has 5 DNF's, compared to Kobay's 4, and he still has more points. Plus he's caused a lot less vehicular damage.
