Agreed, that guy has to be the biggest Vettel fanboy of all time (no offence).

We aren't taking anything away from his drive, he drove a great race and obviously he is a great driver but he was very lucky in some situations, especially with two safety cars which pretty much kept the field close together throughout the entire race. And yes he did use the f word, and as a professional and double world champion thats not something you'd expect, its not that we're worried our kids or whatever will hear it, it just looks bad on his part thats all.

If anyone else started in the pits and finished 3rd, people would be hailing it as the second coming of Christ. When Vettel does it, it's obviously just luck. If ever there was a fitting time to post this, this is it.

He is more than welcome to state his opinion, but saying he is going to put people on their butts for speaking their mind is kind of hypocritical. I'm not mad or anything, I just don't appreciate his juvenile tone. You can state your point without insulting or belittling others.

So according to Mr. Bryan, it's "Ok" him to say "shut your pieholes" to the rest on this thread because he got butt hurt from me saying his man Vettel got lucky. But we can't say he should calm down?

Whaaaa Whaaaa! Nobody gives my boy Vettel the respect he deserves! Who's the baby? Gimme a F#&@in break.

I figured you would get the sarcasm in my tone. But yea we are all entitled to our opinions but sometimes opinions are so stupid that I have to say something. If someone said "slavery is a good idea" well that's an opinion but to not expect a response is crazy. Well yea, this discussion is nowhere near a discussion of slavery I get it. Just using an extreme example to make a point. But it gets old when every single time Vettel does something it's luck or the car or god reached down and controlled his car it gets old.

Now talk about hypocrisy. You say whaa whaa but at the same time you are whaa whaaing about my post. I believe your opinion of Vettel is wrong. And if you don't like the way I tell you I think it's wrong, well boot me from the discussion or man up. We are all adults here. I can take what you throw at me without telling you to calm down or leave.

And truth is, if Hamilton came from behind and cursed up there many of you would be on your knees taking what he has to give. Hamilton only has BAD luck and Vettel has good luck. Funny that Vettel was the one the sensitive guy came down on for cursing, not Kimi. It didnt even seem like Vettel knew what he said. Whether he knew it, meant it, or just slipped, so what. It happens.

And I stand by my shut your hole. Vettel proved today he is among the best and anything anyone says to discredit that is obviously just "poor my guy isn't as good I gotta bring down one of the best" mentality.

And yes I'm a huge Vettel fanboy. If I could have babies and I was attracted to men I would be all over him.

You assumed wrong dude! Using your slavery example, fanatical belief without reason or fact can be misguided. You profess to be a Vettel "fan". Do you see the irony?

IMHO, the difference is, Button and Perez don't have that level of talent.
Didn't I recently just say Hami, Alonso, Vettel and IMHO Hulk are best drivers in F1? Where have I said he sucks? All I said is luck favored him ... it takes nothing away from his skills. But obviously you don't seem to understand that ....

Also tell me how Vettel would've made it to 3rd if it weren't for the 2 safety cars? "Man up" and feel free to explain that in great detail? The rest of us will be waiting for your answer with great anticipation. ... Magic and pixie dust?

Didn't Webber do it in China this year as well? Or did he finish 4th? I can't remember

Yes it was...some A-hole on the pit wall telling Kimi to keep pushing and who was immediately behind him...like an 8 year old telling a 20 year old how to tie his shoes..our little iceman thawed out during that race!...congrats to him...drove a great race and well deserved win.

^^^Ease up boys...just two races to go...save it for the end.

Later, Ken

Grown men use the F word from time to time. It's no big deal. If your kid or wife hear it it isn't going to destroy them, hate to break this to you but they hear it at school from other kids. I heard the F word when I was a kid and I have never raped, killed, or blown up anything. Get over it.

Gentlemen use the word, presidents use the word, humans use the word, it's a word. Stop giving it so much power.
First of all, I am a Vettel supporter. I love the guy. I defended him when he got that grid penalty. I am hoping and praying that he will win his third championship. I also love Red Bull and think that Adrian Newey is the Bee's knees. And, Seb's drive to the front was amazing and should help put to rest the idea that he can only race when in the lead.

Now to the F-bomb. Yes, Joe Biden, Madonna, Lady Gaga and many others of their ilk use it publicly. Now, it is one thing to do it privately and another to do it publicly on the podium. I just feel that in an official setting, it is better to not let one's tongue wag. Off the podium, no big deal. However, all the focus of the world so to speak was on the 3 drivers. I just think that Seb acted very childishly and immaturely in doing so.

I am by no means a Victorian prude. Yes, I have used the F word myself. However, I do not use it at my job, nor do I use it when I am out in public at a restaurant or when shopping. Probably the thing I am most ashamed of is using in front of my wife who never, ever uses profanity. He hurts her. So, I do stand guilty of being profane at times and definitely a hypocrite spelled with a capital H.

The thing is that as a society, we are not improving. Profanity is just an outward expression of an inward insecurity. There are things far worse than that and it is not something I spend much time worrying about. However, when it comes to sportsmen and gentlemen, there is no way any of today's drivers can compare to the greats of the 50's and 60's. How many drivers have given up their car and lose a championship so that a teammate could win? There was a tremendous camaraderie among the drivers of the day where winning wasn't everything. They cried and wept when friends were lost in crashes, they helped take care of the widows of said crashes and they were a class act. Perfect? No. But, they set the standard for elegance in F1. End of diatribe.

I thought Seb's race to the front was epic. I love Red Bull and the team. The guys on this thread know how I feel about Seb and the team. With that said, if you are honest, you will also have to acknowledge that RB walks a thin line between being cutting edge and cheating. To be honest, I think they were cheating when they got caught with less than the required amount of fuel for a fuel sample. Last year, their flexing front wing certainly stretched the rules. It is said in racing that the best teams are the ones who can cheat in a way that nobody notices. I feel that one reason RB is hated is because they are able to contravene the rules w/o getting caught. Do others like Ferrari cheat too? Definitely. However, I have to admire and respect McLaren for trying to do things within the rules. Sauber would be another team that is above board. So, nobody is debating Seb's run to the front. And, we have to be truthful that Seb is an overly aggressive driver, much like Schumi, and seemingly will do anything to pass another car.

i don't hate Vettle or RB. i'd rather see them win then Alonso and Ferrari :P (i respect Alonson's skills, not as a person)

everyone talks about Vettle getting to 3rd with luck, but no one talks about Kimi getting the win because of LUCK. Kimi wouldn't have gotten the win if Vettle didn't start from grid or if Hami car didn't break, so there was some luck there also

I definitely agree with that. Murphy's law was in full effect for everyone at some point in the race!

Luck definitely played a part but that's also what keeps things unpredictable and thus exciting. If it weren't for the 2 safety cars, the cars wouldn't get bunched up again. For example if you are 24 secs back from 4th place and you are gaining 1 sec a lap on his times, it would take you 24 laps just to catch up to him and that's not even including traffic that you have to pass ....

What Kimi said reminded me of what Alonso said during the 2011 race in Australia. It was almost the same conversation. LOL! I was happy Kimi won, he's one of the best drivers out there, right up with Vettel, Alonso, Hami and others ... The one time SpeedTV commentators didn't pick him to win a race he ends up winning. Oh the irony. LOL!

So going back to one of my questions. After Vettel started from the pits does the 2 tire rule not apply? Or did I see that wrong and did he start with the harder tire for the 1st stint?

He started on the Mediums and pitted twice for Softs.

Exactly. Kimi won simply because Lewis dropped out. Had Lewis finished the race, Kimi would have been second. And, had Seb started from third, he would have either finished second to Lewis or won the race if Lewis dropped out. "Luck" has always been part of the sport and it can be very cruel at times. Since beginning to watch racing in 1966, I have seen many people lose a major race on the last lap due to a mechanical problem. I rather like the term "opportunity" because it happens a lot in racing. People crash, have mechanical problems or other issues and drop by the wayside. So, another person takes over and wins. Both Kimi and Seb had golden opportunities I would say and they took advantage of them.

Addendum: Found this on SkySports about Seb's drive from pitlane to podium: http://www1.skysports.com/formula-1/...s-Abu-Dhabi-GP
