Back to on topic, Hillclimb, evo, cool stuff, GO!

we have a couple build diffs from jon and have been running them as delivered from TRE and love the way they feel in the car. but we are not autox these days and the steady state highspeed stuff requires a different setup

made it back over the the Maryhill HIllclimb this weekend. after getting more front end bite dialed in at UMC last weekend we were excited to see some relative back to back testing since we were at Mary last month.

For reference the previous hill record to last year was a 158. last year and last month we did 156.8. The first run saturday afternoon was a 156.1! since we started with mostly cold tires we had a fairly conservative setup. second run had more heat and car wasnt too loose so we added compression in the rear. dropped to a 155.0. third run bryant gave me a couple shift location pointers and i worked on holding the line - got a 154.6! super stoked to reset the hill record by 2.2 seconds.

one interesting point - we didnt increase HP and the trap speed was the same as our previous runs ... it was the mid corner speed that increased.

im still learning the grip limit so the throttle is a but choppy feeling it out.

do those hay bales even do anything as far as preventing a car from going off the mountains. they are usually put in front of stationary objects like trees and buildings.

the hill gets used for downhill boarding and luge. those guys stack them then leave them there.

kind of curious why you didn't cantilever the rear wing further back? Would seem like cleaner air, and a bit better leverage on the high speed, possibly allowing you to reduce aoa some. Perhaps too much intermediate speed downforce sacrifice doing that ?

Dont know about Carl, but I dont mount my wing higher or further back because its just more leverage lifting the front. Looks like its current location would have it in pretty solid clean air.

for sure it is high enough. I was thinking along the lines of drag reduction by way of shallower angle of attack. I'm reading that you guys aren't bound by much in the way of rules so I'm merely interjecting, and totally amazed by all of your guys dedication in general. 👍

btw was there a matrix of aoa vs drag you referenced in setting up?

that is the exact reasoning.

we did talk about dropping it a bit and moving back 6" to lower the AOA and increase efficiency as mentioned about but got nervous changing too many things at once.
