Or hire more guys. If there is that much back log, there is money there for an additional employee, possibly two.

Depends on what you're doing too. For parts I'm working on it just makes more sense to pay a local shop I have a relationship with and know their work quality to make them for me. But I don't have enough work to keep someone employed 100% of the time. They certainly might, though maintaining employees becomes a full time job by itself.

its hard to find skilled guys. i'm an engineer at an HVAC/fab shop. we can find field guys relatively easy enough but the highly skilled precision fabricators are harder to come by - and expensive. I could have had some of my guys fab up the parts (we have all the SS fittings in stock to do it all and a laser to cut the flanges) and tig them here but it would have cost more than ordering it because of my high labor cost.

It'd be interesting to see ya'lls spool difference/hold between the vband and the twin (which is a whole other thread over somewhere). But ya, beautiful parts. So chad's literally on a 3 month turnaround these days, that sucks . Keeps reminding me we all need to learn to do all this stuff ourselves lol.

with the 2.2L and 10:1 compression i'm hoping we're within 300rpm of stock spool .... fingers crossed. I've had vband and non-vband on my snowmobiles and it is a very noticeable improvement

we'll post up logs when we get to that point

as i mentioned above i told chad we we're in a hurry as we weren't to that point so i'm not sure if the typical lead time it the same as ours.

I'd like to compare once both our cars are running. Mine is going on a 10.5:1 2.1 long rod.

we'll post up the info once its available.

we're not going to push the car to the limit HP wise. CBRD says the turbo can support 700HP and the motor build should easily handle that as well. Our plan is to run 500ish for the first season then bump up a bit once we get the suspension and aero dialed in.

Speaking of tuning we have finally decided on our tuning for the car. After talking to several high profile evo tuners out of state we got in contact with Rory and Mike and Throttle Works in Boise. They have an AWD dyno and Rory is a tuning Guru. He's tuned a lot of GTR's and turbo's LS motor around here and has a LOT of experience with standalone ECU's. It will be awesome to be able to LOG our runs up the hill and review them after the event. Rory has some cool ideas that we are going to work on throughout the summer.

It going to be weird using a dyno rather than heading out on back roads late at night doing pulls haha

we went down to their facility yesterday. 8000sqft and it is FULL. they have some pretty cool projects going on including a turbo ls chevy truck being built for the Optima street car challenge.
