evo 9 hillclimb build log
they had a radar gun at the finish and we were 107.
it is a foltex (haha) bumper. Bryant has had it for a season or two and the undertray is already gone. the whole front bumper mounted is pretty janky at this point. we need to put some time into it. i got some 12mm expanded pvc sheet to make a splitter/undertray this week. hoping we have time to get it and a few other things done before we head to oregon next weekend. making it isnt going to be the hard part - making it semi easily removable to load in the trailer is going to be difficult

. But the added weight to re-enforce it made it not worth the hassle.
Several of us have fallen to the mighty gt1000 while working on the car. Bryant is the latest victim and left a little skin behind.

We missed the last two runs at the hillclimb because it was backfiring pretty hard. Rory at throttle works said it could be the home brew COP setup we had or a faulty crank and/or cam angle sensor. As soon as Monday came around we hit up Matt at SpoolinUp about a legit COP setup. He asked us about our goals and car setup then made a recommendation for a new kit with an aluminum plate. He got it shipped out a couple hours later and we got it on the car tonight. In the mean time we had diagnosed the CAS as faulty so it was replaced. With the new parts the car runs great!

We also put a new gm ebc on the car. The grimmspeed wasn't working for us. Hopefully this fixes the issue so we can make some more power! Off to Throttle Works tomorrow to see if we got the issues sorted and Rory can work some magic for us!

We headed up to Larison Rock for another stop on the NHA Hillclimb series tour. Second outing in as many weekends at a hillclimb. It was beautiful - so many trees much of the course was in a tunnel.
Morning drivers meeting.

Bryant getting ready for the first run:

Artistic shot from Phoubear

Did the first couple runs on the re71r. Swapped over to the r888 to shave a couple seconds off. Not sure there is much difference. Those re71r are legit. Still in love with the WedsSport's

First weekend with the new splitter. Made this fella Friday in Boise before we left to Oregon.

we got a call from Throttle Works last night. our CAS is not reading. not sure if its a sensor or wiring issue. he said that we were 80whp down

hopefully its all resolved before our next race. we need more power!
Got back on the dyno at Throttle Works. We're still in open look tuning because we ran out of time due to some more alternator issues
Good news is the ebc is working so we can run more than 17lbs haha. And the new cam sensor is working.
So we had 390whp at the first race. 310whp at the second, and this weekend we'll be at 450whp
!
Our vehicle speed sensor is not reading so we still don't have launch control. Hopefully we can get that sorted out tomorrow.
But have 140hp more than the last race will be awesome!

Throttle Works came through!
To recap:
Initially at 390whp @ 17psi
Lost cas and dropped to 310whp
New cas and TW fixed our ebc and now we're at 450whp @25psi!!
We had to get the car back to work on the splitter and vehicle speed sensor so they didn't have time to work on th closed loop tuning - but we can worry about that later.
Dyno. For reference a tuned gtr did 450whp on this dyno

Custom EBR SS heat shield:

And more work the night before leaving for Hoopa - good times
