evo 9 hillclimb build log
Careful on how light cause needing 4-6 fasteners to hold it on at speed makes it moot. We made one that was ~4lbs and it moved so much we went back to reinforced ones.
But simple parts too - block off plates, canards, radiator guides, flat bottoms, ground effects ya know things like that

well we made it back from another out of state race.
this time we went to the Bible Creek hillclimb near the oregon coast. This was the 5th stop on the NHA series and the 4th race we've attended.
The hill is by far the roughest hill of the season. its in the trees so the shadows and light play games and change throughout the day.
The car worked great. Made a few suspension changes on the hill to help with stability and worked on our launch control. the speed sensor didnt work so it was off of a momentary switch on the dash. still getting more wheel spin than id like to see but its much more consistent than without.
there was some competition - this AM car had us worried when he pulled up:

and of course a couple vettes on rcomps and subi's.
the all-time hill record is a 158.5 - and only one person has gone under the 2 minute mark in the 20+ year history.
ran the toyo r888 on the first day. got down to a 2:03 - good enough for ftd and a class record.
sunday we decided to finally bust out the hoosiers to see what the car could do on them.
first run on hoosiers was slow - no launch just scrubbing them in and getting heat into them - ran a 2:17
car felt good so on the second run we went for it. car felt gate. crossed the line with a 1:58.1 - new all time hill record!!! it was awesome to see the sub 2 minute time.
3rd run - knowing the car will stick and we can carry more corner speed we ran another clean run - this time a came in at a 1:56.6!!
we ended up going 1-2 in the class and got KOH and fastest door slammer

on the way home we lost a wheel bearing - im tired of typing so we'll save that story for later haha

finally got the trunk mounted

not a single spectator was harmed during this event
