In all honesty, it's not (sane). Not that any of it is (our sport) but yeah, I wouldn't build an STU car now unless it was a Corvette or 350Z (maybe a Porsche; or whatever sports car they let in next). IMHO, anything else would be a waste of time and money.

You are focusing on the wrong thing here! I am not saying that this is going to be the car to have for the class or anything else in that regard. I am quite aware of its bad side, but that is not what was asked here.

I would like to improve my car to be fun to drive and as competitive as it can be at this time. If car can do 60 sec run today on a given course, the same car in STU trim will be faster. All I am asking is what you think how much faster that could be with mods allowed in STU. Nothing more and nothing less.

Na, I get it. Short answer is that it will be significantly less competitive in STU and therefore significantly less fun. It's the "faster" part that I don't get, it's not relevant (for autocross anyways).

If you want to simply go faster, slap some Hoosiers on it. At the end of the day it will likely be cheaper, and likely more "fun" for ya.

Good luck!

I guess I don't really get why.. You know it cant be competitive and don't care, so why even bother with STU in the first place. Just run whatever you want and have fun cause no mater what class you run it, you'll be an under dog.

As far as time gained, only one way to find out. No one here is going to know more than you already do about your car.

If you're concerned with truly faster, go to ASP (BSP?). E85, coilovers, etc...

For some reason you guys can not get out of that STU competitiveness and were the car will be. I have never asked anything about that, but most of the answers are about that for whatever reason.

There are few bolts on that STU rules set allows over the B-Street rule set. If the same car does 60 second run on a given course, the same car with few mods will be faster than that. Perhaps, it could do flat 59 sec run. Or, maybe low 58s. High 57s perhaps?

Each turn BS car takes it takes longer for car to set due to the soft suspension. Stiffer springs on its own will decrease this time for each turn. A hundred of a second on each cone? Two hundred? Half a tenth?

One thing is for sure and that is that car with these mods will be faster then without them. I do have my guesstimate and I wrote it previously. Since this is the place with most knowledgeable guys about these cars, I was wondering what others think about this. But, this somehow got lost in translation and I am getting answers nobody is asking about...

Exactly, its not that we aren't answering your question. We have. Its that you're acting like my wife and just want to hear your answer in my/our voice. All we can tell you is its as pointless as running an X is BS, or an X in ASP, or an X in *chooseyoureflavor.

Tough crowd.

I'm sure you'll be faster in STU trim, but even faster in ASP. I vote for ASP mods and have at it.

(coming from the guy who autocrosses a Talon and is outclassed in EVERY class)

EVO 8\9 folk, I'm thinking of collecting a few spares for our drive out to Lincoln (Pro and Finale') and back. Any recommendations aside from fresh\extra fluids, lugs\nuts, lines? Front Axles maybe?

Front axles don't seem to be a problem but rear (left) axles for sure. Other things we've changed at nats:
-timing/balance belt and crank position sensor
-fuel pump
-T-case
-rear diff
