17x9.5 +38 is the common RPF-1 fitment. 17x9 +25 will protrude an extra 7mm in the rear. That will probably still fit with enough camber and a good roll, but it's not going to be as plug-and-play as the 17x9.5 +38.

ahh - yea I'm getting the weds 17x9.5 +32, but it's probably going to fit similar to 17x9 +25.

got it. no worries there. not running a lot rear camber, but I think it'll be good enough to clear. from the pics it looks like. 6-7mm is about a quarter of an inch I believe.

Chono's car (that placed 2nd in STU in 2012) ran the 17x9.5 +32 Weds without a roll or pull. He wanted to keep the car as intact as possible. It's definitely doable, but it'll be a function of ride height and spring rate. He was into the 4 digit range in the rear.

Fenders cannot be pulled in STU (the outside fender profile cannot be changed) so I-- and other STU guys-- spent a fair bit of time and effort to roll without pulling.

yikes - i'm not far from half his rate lol. but yea i'll be rolling, hopefully that'll be good enough to clear in autox. i also don't mind the car riding fairly tall, so i'm happy to raise the car even an inch upwards from where it is now, if it's within the range of adjustment via the height and preload adjustments.

good info... i actually like the idea of not changing the outside profile. i'll have to let the shop do it. should just have to be in the rear though, the fronts look like they've got plenty of space

Well that's silly.

Yes, kyoo, the front will have room for days.

another thing about this - if it was 2012, he was probably running on 245/40s - a great deal smaller than 255/40.

I have no doubt i'll have to roll to fit, and maybe play with heights a little. Hopefully that's enough to fit the tires at cornering extremes.

I'm not sure you'll have to roll the rears to get it to fit...if the measurements from TireRack can be believed, then the difference between a 245 and 255 RE-71R (or Rival S) is like .2-.3 inches. I didn't have an issue with the 245/40/17 Rival S on my 17x9.5 RPF1s last year and I didn't have an issue fitting the 255/40/17 RE71Rs on those same wheels earlier this year. I only rolled the rears when I bought the 18x10 RPF1s with the 265/35/18 RE71Rs. Camber was between -1.5 and -1.8 degrees in the rear, zero toe.

hmm thanks. at the very least i'll put the wheels and tires on and see what the clearances are. it definitely won't rub in normal driving, i'm just thinking about for autox.

a vendor is reaching out to see if they'll do a special run of the 17x9.5 +32 with the 67.1mm bore instead of the 73.1. either way, very excited. 17x8 OEM to 17x9.5 should be a decent jump in grip

17x9.5 RPF1's are 6mm higher offset, of course they didn't rub...

What rates are you guys running on your 8/9/10s? I finally pieced my suspension together and I'm going to put it on to see if I can attempt to street drive it here and there.

Stock Bars with Ciro Brackets
12k Front
16k Rear

This is on an Evo X.
18x10 ET22 with 265s.

672 Front
896 Rear

Wheel rates will be damn near identical front to rear which should give it nice rotation.

I'm on 700/900 on my IX. It's still streetable enough that I end up commuting in it for maybe 3 weeks a year. Your shocks need to be able to deal with it gracefully though. I would not try it on Racelands.
