RE71R where are you

So I ordered a set of 255/40/17 RE71Rs a month ago, and apparently the eta date has been delayed. Again.... Anyone know where to get a set before mid to late June?

Tire rack is sold out. It's a popular size. Good bet Bstone is have a problem keeping up with demand..

I ordered mine from tire rack and had them the next day. Different size though 275/35/18. Haven't got a chance to use them yet but looking forward to it.

all out from everyone I've spoken to that has ordered and is waiting.

surprised, looks like bstone didn't anticipate the demand. losing sales. friend of mine switched to the rival s - minimal loss in speed, if any.

I figure I'll hang out a little and see what happens. If they don't come in I may pick up some star specs instead I've always run RS3s but wanted to give them a try.

FYI, there's some chatter about BFG changing the construction of the 3-rib Rival S to make some improvements. The 4-rib tires (including 275s) are unchanged.

The updated version isn't in the channel yet, but will carry a 2016 production date and the speed rating will be V for the revised tires. The old version has a W speed rating so you can at least tell them apart.

You should try a set of Kumho V720. They may not be quite as good as the RE71R, and are not getting near the hype, but for the price they could be a decent alternative. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....20XL&tab=Sizes

Looked at those as well. Again, they're on back order.

instances of the v720 destroying itself on track are popping up here and there. wouldn't take a chance with that tire

^ i've seen similar, and even worse than that on track usage. would roll with rivals, or even dunlop z2s if you're not trying to set the absolute fastest street tire time. rival s proving to be nearly as good as re71rs though

My issue with the rival s is more money for less tire. I can't see paying more for a tire that's not as good.
