From: Why do they always call the Evo the Dark Side?
As a warning, the Girodisc *ultralite* rotors are not class legal due to this clause (which, IIRC, was put in there specifically to make the ultralites illegal)
Thickness includes the individual plates of a vented rotor,
as well as the overall dimension.

i'm assuming the rules are written to discourage lightweight stuff - going the opposite route, evo x brakes and rotors

So, Girodisc rotors for X are a bit smaller than OEM (2 mm if I am correct). Does that makes them illegal as well? I know I had to stay away from them for B-Street, but thought they might be OK for STU. Reading above paragraph looks otherwise:

Am I over-reading this one?

Last three sets I ordered were $175 per ring. I have posted a specs that you need to ask for. Perhaps, they could just look up for my orders as well. You have to get your own hardware. First time I bought a set from somewhere, but last time I had none and had to replace my rings quickly, so I just reused old ones...year or so later, everything is still there!

$175 per ring aint bad at all! Always bothered me that replacement rings were still so expensive relative to basic 1 piece rotors. But hey you gotta pay to play!

Im not sure how comparable our specs would be and I have plenty of time until Ill need replacements but always good to have options.

Meh depends on type of pads used weight of car tires how many runs maybe he just replaced them at the end of the season...I get what youre saying though.

Honestly was merely curious what he was getting rings for. I have a set of DBA4000's that are in great shape that I took off when my buddy literally gave me the 5000's. So when I kill my rings on the 5's Ill cry and put my poorman 4000's on then after that pick up new rings for the 5000's probably, lol.

My original OEM set was done in first two season of pretty much only autoXing (I don't do any track days) and daily driving. Than I got an new set for me and my friend. I have used that one with AX6s for a season, but than switched to R4Ses after that. That lasted for another season or two and when those were done, I got a third set and that is on car right now and it is at best half worn with at least one more season to go.

So, I have gone through 2.5 sets of rotors in 6 years, with Coleman units lasting a bit longer than OEM Brembos. Sorry for the original confusion with the number of sets!

Figure I would give an update. Something fell into my lap and I jumped on it so the Evo is gone and I will be running a c5z next year. I have my JRZ 2 ways for sale for 2k if anyone is interested Message me.

I havn't posted any updates in a while cause i felt like this thread was dead so I will make one last post regarding my impression of the EVO X in STU. IMO the car is a front runner and has a legit shot at winning the big show in the right hands. As you guys know I run with NNJR which is a tough region. The car kept paxing better and better towards the end of the season and actually won PAX at the last event of the year which was a mini tour format. If you have an X and are thinking about STU, do it. The rotation is amazing, turn in is amazing, slaloms get a little sketchy but you need to anticipate the movement going in. Sweepers the car will hang with the rest of the class. Downfalls, this is not a prosolo car as the clutch sucks and daily driving it will be taxing with proper STU trim lol. This was not my daily driver, so I did not really care.

Final Setup:
JRZ RS 2Way with 800f/900r rates
NT03 18x10.5 ET30 wheels. 12mm spacer for the front.
265 Bridgestones on all four wheels
WL 27mm RSB on full stiff with Hotckis Endlinks
Ciro Racing FSB Brackets on full stiff (stock bar)
AMS Cat Pipe
Invidia N1 Single Exhaust
Front Tower Brace
Cobb Intake and Inlet Pipe
AF/Boost Gauges with a STU Tune
TS short shifter and bushings.
NRG Bucket w planted mount

4 degrees front Camber 1/8th out
2.5 degrees rear Camber 0 toe

Couple Vids from the end of the season. Good Luck everyone
