Yep, I remember that happened in 2014 as well. In 2015, STX raw timed STR. Hard to say what the reasons were without context though, it's all driver/conditions/car/course/etc. dependent

Looks like the ecu language has been previewed: https://www.scca.com/articles/200828...l-for-feedback

Cliff notes:
- Any reprogramming of the OE ecu is fair game (I'm taking this to include boost)
- Piggybacks only ok if you're 2005 or older
- Standalone ok for 1995 or older

What seem to be missing from there is talk about new classing structures that was also part of this change...wonder where is that one at...

Latest Fastrack is out: https://dk1xgl0d43mu1.cloudfront.net...pdf?1508769569

370Z is in STU, 93 octane is our new limit. As for the open ECU proposal, I saw that it was in the "Change Proposals" section, rather than the "Recommended Items for 2018" section - does this mean it hasn't been recommended yet to the BoD/SEB, and therefore won't be approved for 2018?

not to be overly pedantic, but the things in this fastrack are only recommended to the BOD, they still have to approve them (which isn't always a 100% thing). The STH and ECU stuff is going to be addressed next month and likely still sent to the BOD for approval, just slightly late.

MCS stays in STX, at least for this year, which i thought was interesting given it's what kicked this entire thing off. was chatter about it getting moved to STU, obviously too fast for STH. i wonder if it not winning STX this year round had anything to do with it.

For running 18x8.5 inch wheels, what size tire would be better for fitment and performance? I am currently using 245/40/18's and was thinking about switching to 255/35/18 or 265/35. Also would I need to do any modifications to the rear so there would be no tire rubbing or anything like that?

I do have a bigger rear bar, I could stiffen it more(set in middle currently). I am running fortune auto 510 coil overs. Would adjusting the rear compression/rebound be better to adjust than the rear sway? Sorry my first set of coilovers so trying to learn the ins and outs of it.
copying this over from the other thread. for 8.5, i'd do 255s max.

depends on your springs but based on the video you posted i would do something about that front grip. at least startign with going stiff on the rear bar, yea

Car has 10k fronts and 11k rears. Whats the main reason running 255's over 265's, fitment? In my head I have the mindset of 265 is more contact patch than the 255's which means it should be better overall? But will there be a negative impact if it bugles out a tad bit that would make the 255's a better choice?

Man, you should run the biggest tire you get in there. Period! STU allows max of 265s for AWD cars and if you can fit it on your car (it fits just fine on those rims, but you should getting bigger ones eventually), run it!

That's what I'm thinking unless there is a reason why I shouldn't. I'm all open ears on why or why not.

because you won't see any benefit from it on 8.5's. you should be running whatever you can fit, 11" wheels technically. there is almost zero difference between 255's and 265s if you stay on a narrow wheel

i run 255's on a 9.5, and i'd run 265s if they were available in 17, they'd fit fine. but on an 8.5, it's almost no difference.
