The setrab cooler they use is an excellent piece. Works well on my car.

Agreed. I tried their B&M unit. It was smaller than stock and flimsy as tin foil. I also saw no gain in performance.
I now have the Setrab kit and it was worth every penny.

For those of you mounting it in the front of the car, can you show a pic and details of what you went with? I'd like to put a big setrab in the front but wana see what others have done.

Check the link I posted above about the SST custom cooler. I ended up adding a front mount with some brackets. One could have just tapped that inline with the factory oil cooler unit easily (thereby it has thermostat control). I know some people run TWO large coolers (one for SST and one for oil or 2x SST) but I would want to leave some airflow for the radiator to do its job!

I was referring to engine oil and evo8/9. But same concept.

Common is to put it where the condenser sits and center it in the grill opening.
If I ever ditch A.C., I'll be doing the same.

My car ran a perfectly acceptable 205* oil temp doing 20 minute sessions in 90* ambient temps with the setrab oil cooler in the stock location.

Only benefit I see to moving it is not dumping all that heat on the passenger front tire.

I'd assume he wants to a larger cooler. That's the only advantage I could see, other than not running fender liners and wanting to keep it protected, maybe?

Why add the weight of a larger cooler, longer lines, more oil, etc, if the setup MAP sells with that size setrab works fine? Also, this is with my car making ~450whp. V.8mr is running a stock turbo setup and will likely be in the low 300's for hp, so his oil temps will be even more controllable.

I consistently saw 250-260 on my stock oil cooler on track. I put a koyo piece up in the nose with relatively similar surface area to the oem one so I could close off the bumper openings. Saw at minimum equivalent cooling if not slightly better and don't have to worry about it getting ripped off going off track. I also kept a/c

Heck, I dunno. I was just guessing hypotheticals. I have no clue what is reason is

Closing off bumper openings like Killerpenguin21 is another reason, though.

My intention is to block off linlets for some better aero, and to make brake duct routing easier. I'd also like to see it lower than the average 250 which I think is a bit high even for a stock car.

In my Honda challenge car, if it's not 280 I'm not going fast enough! Lol

I was getting those temps on good amsoil so I wasn't too concerned

Using the available frontal air space designed with the side mounted oil cooler makes the most sense to me. I like the MAP kit with the setrab cooler for sure. I thought letsgetthisdone had fitment issues and MAP blamed your car ? Maybe I am confused.

I could just try throwing a SPAL fan on the OEM oil cooler like I did with the SST cooler. Sounds like that might just be an option. No one is screaming that sky high oil temps are a common problem with the EVO X on the track.
