Thanks guys. I will see if they make them in the size I need. I am letting a buddy drive my Cobalt at Streets of Willow at the end of the month and he said he would pay for half the tires as a thank you. Now I need to finish getting the Evo ready since I wasnt planning on taking it. Got the Girodisc titanium shims and some ST43s to put on as well as a brake fluid flush. Easy stuff.

Edit - RS4s are out. They dont make them in the right size.

What about the Federal 595 RS RR? I can get a set for $440 out the door. Everything else is over $600 by the time I pay for tax and shipping.

I wouldn't. Things get expensive when the carcass comes off the sidewall.

Did you check Hankook's site, or Tire Rack? Tire Rack is out of stock of a lot of R-S4 sizes for some reason.

I have checked at least 15-20 different places. The only size I see offered would be perfect for my Evo. 265/35-18. But I need 225/40-18 for the Cobalt.

I found a set of NT05s in stock locally (and a buy 3 get 1 free) but I think at that point I would prefer the 615s. Everyone is out of stock on them though. I got about 2 weeks to get something or I will be out of time. If my search keeps going like this, I am really tempted to just buy some 17" wheels and use the 615s I have laying around. But at the same time, the car has a stupid offset, 5x120 bolt pattern and has Brembos that dont clear most wheels. Might as well just send it on the 5 year old 500TW tires it has on it....

I'd pull the tirgger on the NT05's. They're an old tire as they've never been redesigned since their initial release a long time ago, but they're proven and work well. And apparently in stock with a BOGO deal. Seems like a no brainer to me..

They like to come apart. No bueno.

A for NT-05s. I've broken off chunks of them during HPDE. That's after a warm up lap. I used to have pictures, but it was a long time ago. Stock WHP and weight.

Good to know thats common. I done track duty before but never noticed. Usually on track I turn things down more like 20psi but we were at 25psi for this smaller event and driving quite a bit more aggressively with less airflow.

I am going to keep looking for other options for now. That deal is good for the month so as long as they keep the tires in stock ill be fine.

Keep in mind this is a 300whp FWD turd that weighs around 2700lb. Not sure if that going to help with chunking.

I dont think that they make anything close enough in size. Even if they did, it seems like everyone is out of stock.

Probably as fast or faster but being a few 100lbs lighter should definitely help.
