Sup w/them 2026 Spring Projects?
Pretty much. The rarity went through the roof after everyone wrecked them early on I felt. That and I don't see many stock to race builds anymore besides GTR's for drag really. What's sad is a lot of these current owners are scared due to said "value", when it's not really that valuable because the market is uber small when compared to say a mid 90's p-car. Then you have the whole "stock" value vs "modified" value. *rolls eyes*. If you see one that's stock and has 100k miles on it....it wasn't always stock lol.
with that said I appreciate what you do there Dallas J keep this car competitive and fun. Once I got everything sorted out with car. I will hit you up with some parts
I have used the quikjacks on E30/E46 bmws. There's enough room for simple exhaust and maintenance work but not much else unless you're narrow af. That MaxJax looks well worth it in price if you have the right space. What's the lowest ceiling you can use that bad boy with?
You put a flow controller exhaust on them so they dont come smashing down. That sorta instant retract is only used for pit stops. Besides you can control how quickly it exhausts via the release valve anyway if you lift it slowly. And when they extend the speed is all based on how much pressure you give it. we set our bottles and regs up so its only just enough to bring the car up nice and smoothly. In a pit stop for example youd use double the pressure so its almost instant but this isnt good for the life of your jacks and you only do fast retract and extend during a race pit stop
I've been warming up to those. I'm curious that you stated it handles as well or better than an Evo. I had heard of lots of weird handling quirks with them. Have they fixed all that or was it just internet BS?
Don't worry Joe I still have the evo! But thanks.
A91. I got too good of a deal on it to consider the m2c. Big price difference.
I want to get into road racing mine. Got a few hundred drag passes and a few years of autocross on mine but I want to start doing road courses. Sebring is only an hour and a half away from me and I would love to start getting into HPDE out there. I don't give a single F about the value of mine since I'll NEVER get rid of it. It'll eventually get to the point that it becomes a caged race car but I do want to be able to daily it for a few more years before that happens. Pulling the stock block out for a 2.2 4G64 and will likely build the 4G63 into an all out race engine. And then build another 4G64 as well.
What I like to remember is that the evo is a LOT more forgiving then pretty much anything else out there besides maybe a GTR or a p-car with all the controls turned on. Some of these people get S2k's and Miata's *cough* thinking it'll be "safer" or "cheaper" when in reality they're much more likely to spin due to any number of over/under corrections
Hahaha yea, they very much are compared to other RWD cars. I used to want an Exige S so bad since I always went to lotus club track days in my Evo. Then I drove one on track and holy F that thing is twitchy as hell. I no longer wanted one. I would have def crashed or killed myself in one.
I hear you, but, at least for me, I've got more track time in RWD than AWD. I think the newness of a car affects how forgiving it is more than the RWD vs AWD actually. If you've tracked a late model M car or even a gen6 Camaro, they are really really easy to drive and hard to spin on track unless you get it really wrong, even with traction control turned off. They are just really well balanced and predictable.

That sounds more like a mid engine problem to me. Every mid engine car I have driven (with the exception of an older Boxster / it was an understeer machine) has been twitchy. My Bug gets scary at times with how fast the back end comes around. When it starts to go, there is no catching it.
However, the Porsche Cayman doesn't have this issue. You can drive those hard as hell.
I have not driven one of those yet but from the ones I have seen go around the track, I would agree with you, especially the 718s.
