Strained the oil and cut open the filter. Didn’t see any shiny flakes or anything, except for drain plug having a tiny bit of shavings. So I think I’m good 😶

Really spread the pleats apart to see down in the filter. But it looks ok in the pic
What's that drain plug? Looks like a trans/diff plug. Is that what the racefab pan uses?

So I used to use Amsoil's EAAU4560 air filter, which I really, really like. Had a small inverted cone at the top for additional volume. Looks like it's been discontinued, really bummed about that. Don't need anything special, just something that fits that vibrant maf adapter without changing the volume too much. What are people using these days? And no, not getting off maf yet.

Check for end float on the crankshaft also, something that long might be thrust bearing.
But i'm guessing it was left over from the oil pan disassembly.
Taking some system weight... With all brake caliper mounts, standard grN vs mine, some 3.5 pounds lighter per corner... while never trying to be light..
Ive been scanning some things not evo related but wanted to pull out my anti-lag manifold and scan for some playing around. Building the datums I thought it was interesting looking at the flatness of the flange faces. I set the green range here in the +/- 0.025mm which is a statistical analysis of the point cloud.
Blues are into the plane and Reds are out of the plane.
I was more interested in getting an idea of how "un-flat" it was and how much material would need to be removed to flatten. This one would need about 0.1mm to clean up the high center spot for the head flange side. Anyways, I thought it was interesting.

My car never seemed to like oiled filters.
I think the afe one I posted earlier has almost the identical measurements as the Amsoil one. I searched Injen, but they didn't seem to offer the same filter that I used to run. Gonna give it a try as soon as I get my car back.
