yes neighbor's generator super annoying and my future generator is going to be 1/3 the distance. That's why i have to cook up a solution for everyone to copy. I only have 1 neighbor to convince. Goodluck to the others lol.

Since we are on generators. YEARS ago I bought a harbor freight predator 8700 watt unit, that apparently is a HONDA clone and gets good reviews with consumer reports. I hard wired it on a pad with underground lines, and converted it to natural gas. I put a battery under it with a battery tender (it has electric start). It has been absolutely amazing and powers the entire house (ONLY central AC though). I used a full panel UL listed interlock and so everything is juiced up. I can tell the car to charge at reduced rate and even charge the EV6...

Oh that's good to know! I wonder if the Predator units are still Honda clones, cuz that's what I want. Those Honda units are nice and quiet. I still need to look into what wattage I need. I may DM you Jaraxle later on more details for how you hooked it all up.

I'm going for "13000" or higher, tri-fuel and all the silencer box upgrades lol. the biggest PREDATOR generator is the #1 candidate but I'm not sure if the 1/2" NG inlet/hose is good enough, or how its going to work out during a "Texas freeze" (heater also on). I'm just waiting on some materials then will tackle the AC soft start, breaker box, then NG hook up. Will get the generator during thanksgiving sale maybe lol
1st world problems ugh

btw the typical duromax, champion, firman etc brands is "~50% off" thru aliexpress if opted with 2 month shipping. its tempting lol

Well I can say a NEW YORK freeze is worse and that sucker starts right up. I did have to locate/buy a 3/4" flex line to go from the hardline coming out of the ground to the generator because a diameter restriction would be devastating at the distance I was from my home feed line. I can post some pics here if you like of my setup. It started at 2F out, and ran for three days straight without issue a year or so ago. I put it far enough away from the house with a vinyl fence wall (to block it and the pool equipment) that you can barely hear it. The first year our house was built we lost power SIX TIMES, and that is what made me take on the project. That was 10 years ago, and it still works great.

Highly recommend Predator generators with a natural gas conversion.

post away. i have seen so many setups and videos. I cant tell how quiet their setups are even with DB meters so I have to see for myself eventually. seems the most common setup is with some plastic storage shed... I cant go with that so i might make something a bit more useful

Unknown sounds from evo 10

Recent bought a evo 10 with a brand new 4 stage clutch finally ran it in all the way and check fluids regularly.

last night I was driving and wanted to test the car on a straight banging through gears but never taking it over 5k rpm due to a tune done previously that my tuner doesn’t trust.

Upon launching I went slow into first and then pulled hard the next day I have noticed a noise going into first sounds like reverse when going up hill. And now a high pitch noise coming from behind my back right tire (that region of car) and finally when starting the car today it sounded like the sound a pump Makes really loud for 10 ish seconds similar to the sound of like a electrical RC car.I don’t know what it could be or how to fix this as I’m new to evos

random, but do you guys have any cleaning recs for helmet interiors that aren't removable? I've got an arai gp5w, surprisingly it seems the liners are glued in

I've got this (
Amazon Amazon
) but it seems more like an odor spray, i'd really love something to clean it with. I guess technically I can put the helmet in the sink and wash it that way (don't see any reason the whole helmet can't get wet) but curious if anyone else has this issue.

Question about the AYC/ACD pump and its oil. I am planning to replace it relatively soon and I am thinking it would be good time to replace all of that oil at the same time. Is that the same oil that is in the rear and center diffs? Does that mean I should replace oil in all those places?

The ACD/AYC pump take ATF SP-III fluid and is not the same as the gear oil in the diffs. Should say it on the reservoir cap.

evo X with AYC?

The oil in the pump you can leave alone, or just pull it from the reservoir with a syringe and replace with fresh ATF. That oil does not circulate trough the diffs... it just circulates between the pump and valves and back to the small tank.

The oil in the rear ayc diff.... you have 2 oils there, gear oil (75w90, Ls or not) and ATF... you have 2 drain plugs on the bottom. Front fill plug is gear oil... rear fill plug is ATF... I liked amsoil synthetic ATF
