We dont use any special Limited slip fluid, just standard MT90 (IIRC, whatever Jon normally recommends).

Edit: Redline 75w-90NS is what Ive been using.

Sorry that was in response to the TCase fluid for front diff debate but I walked away before posting so it was late lol.

My late fall install list are as follows:
New Trans with 4.11 and JDM 5th
New clutch, go back to twin
New TRE rear diff to replace 6-7 year old Weir
New SSB rear hotness to match front hotness
New bolts/stuff where all that stuff goes to freshen it up.

Which is why I asked about driveshaft because I'm all about doing it once.

ToDo:
Find a rear brake setup to match the front.
Find 100lbs to take out.

Those bolts are m12x1.50 (17mm Head). 35-40mm long would've been fine...

Sort of wondering why you would send the mounts with the diff. Just paying to ship extra weight when you don't need to..

I think I remember his website/order form saying to not send those not only due to weight, but to avoid parts being lost or forgotten... such as bolts

it's just how i had done it the previous 2-3 times; never thought twice about it, and he repainted the mounts from time to time. i talked to them aaron is sending the bolts to me. i'll receive them tomorrow. i've got a work dinner that i'll cut out early for, get home, and spend the evening working on it. if i get it done in time, i'll drive it to work thursday, and then ~300 miles to Chicago later that evening, drive it in town on friday, flush the diff, and send it.

Well, after being out of the game for several years, there's finally some progress. Still have lots to do, but at least it's almost running again. Last time the car moved under its own power was in the fall of 2014.

New motor is done and in the car... 4G64 2.1 destroker with long rods, GSC S2 cams, a bunch of goodies I probably can't even remember at this point. Turbo setup is an EFR 7163 with the Full Race IWG twinscroll setup.

New exhaust being fabricated... going to add in another slip joint so that another muffler can be added if necessary.

Great to see progress on this finally. Tho that turn down probably not going to pass the sound scrutiny we have now. People tightening down on that, gotta shoot for ~90db to account for bad readings or areas.

Yeah that's what I was thinking...I think with my old Ti exhaust (now on Jimmy's car) I was around 97-98db. The thought was if it's too loud I can add another muffler. More weight, but should make it a fair amount quieter.

It takes a LOT of mufflers to reach 90dB if you're not running a cat. I have a larger resonator and a straight-through, oval Magnaflow. I'm still at 93dB.

My goal isn’t to hit 90db. Just hoping that it’s not louder than my old exhaust, then I’ll go from there.

Awesome. I'm excited to see how that 2.1LR 7163 combo turns out.

My buddy had a 2.3l with a 7163 (sold it a couple years ago) with results here. Should be able to find them but they were ok. It wasnt good enough to be worth the cost of a custom manifold IMO.

I used to run a 2.3 with a stock turbo, then a BBK Full and I felt the same about those setups. The added displacement really caused both of those turbos to run out of breath early in the powerband. With stock turbo my power started falling off just north of 5500, and with the BBK Full I believe it was like 6500. I'm hoping that with the 2.1L the 7163 will be really responsive, but still have a broad powerband.

I have a similiar setup to what youre going with 2.2 + EFR7670. really happy with the powerband and overall smoothness but unfortunately struggled keeping the motor together this year with various silly issues. Now I get to pull it again when I have a moment since it seems my rings never seated properly. 10 autox runs and 1.5qts of oil and my dipstick is now blowing out. Leakdown revealved its the rings whomp whomp

Good luck with that exhaust but I too dont think you'll meet sound. I tried going lightweight on mine, created a thread in here and seems the consensus was its not going to happen so I sold my Ti exhaust and went back to my old setup. Even then with 2 reasonator and a muffler and I added a burns SS muffler like you have, needed a turndown to make sound.

Also, get a different oil pan! Getting that thing to not leak is supposedly difficult but more troublesome is that it really only help in accel and decel not not sustained right handers so its really not going to do much for you sadly. Look into Racefab or just go dry sump.
