And, to be honest, if you ever watch Best Motoring Videos on track, even V-Spec R34 is not faster (stock to stock) than contemporary Evo 5, 6 and 6.5.
They are Grand Touring cars, and that they do quiet well.
Ahh, the ones I saw were converted to LHD it looks like. Was always under the impression that was an option for export cars. Oh well.

Cheap ones are a bit beat. Im talkng to them about the white 95. It appears to be super clean and OE. But the price reflects it.

New ticking noise when I came in from the last 20-minute track session yesterday:

Video was taken after a 5-minute cooldown drive around the paddock. The ticking noise spontaneously stopped a few minutes later and hasn't returned.

Lifters? I'm starting my fall/winter Evo service now that track season is over. Beginning to wonder if it's time for a deeper overhaul.

That doesnt sound like lifter tick to me. Might be wise to drain the oil and cut open a filter? You could also perhaps pull the VC and inspect. How high did you see for oil temps? The fact that it went away after cooling down some is interesting.

Stock motor with 95K miles. MAP downpipe, Berk HFC, stock boost levels. Tune is mostly conservative and I run a few gallons of 100 Octane on track for additional margin.

I’ll drain the oil this week and cut the filter open.

Not sure about oil temps. I only have an oil pressure gauge. Yesterday was 60F outside. Coldest track day all year. Fresh Rotella T6 right before the event.

No aftermarket pan yet, but I only track and autocross the car on 200TW tires.

Utah Motorsports Campus is my home track. The NASA end of season event runs all four track configurations across two days. Was a great event until the car started making noises.
