Agree Andy. And welcome FrostEvo. We have a plethora of AN lines, elbows, and connections. With trunk mount, we aren’t the lightest set up. And we added beefy thermostat which required more AN lines and connections. Work of art if you ask me.
FrostEvo is my builder/engineer/tuner/Crew Chief. He has designed, built, and installed this entire project build. Glad he has chimed in to address any questions.
Balrok, Here are a couple pics per your placement questions. Can’t find pic of oil thermostat plumbing. Frosty?
Cool thx. Interesting, goes to show though - his downpipe is all exposed right next to all of the oil parts, yet the oil barely gets up to temp since it's always in flight. But what he mentioned earlier, all in all how much more weight did it all add assuming you knew the weight before?
Is this an oil feed line to the top of the turbo, going to a pressure side of the pump?
There’s many ways you can fill it.
I open a connection and one end in empty bucket. Other end in bucket of oil.
run pump.
you know there’s plenty of this info on YouTube and google?
Agreed, but remember this isn't your honda forums where we argue for the sake of hiding secrets. If you don't have the time to answer then DON'T. The owner invited you here because he appreciates OUR group and attitude of helping spread the knowledge among the VERY small CT9A racer community that aren't professional a*holes for a living. Thank you for taking the time You got off easy, wait until Kyoo starts asking questions lol.
We had a lot of trial and error like all
of us do. It takes about 10qts I think. We start with 7 and add from there. Frosty has put a lot of research and time into the project. Appreciate your questions and interest. I will try and answer anytime.
Working perfect. As we got the dry sump
installed at the beginning of fall, we quickly realized 10qts of oil through the oil cooler never got warm enough. Great for track days, but around town and late night hoonigan, the car stayed cold. We had to add the oil thermostat to bypass the cooler. Our set up runs from
trunk to front, so a lot of cooling time. As summer came, we started seeing 185 oil temps, which opens up the thermostat and circulates through oil cooler. It works great. Hot track day at 10/10ths sees 220 temps.
Yuck! Still haven’t sourced good rear replacement calipers.
I have a spare rear set I can part with I suppose. I’m located in SoCal and leaving to the northeast for the next couple of months so let me know before I take off if you want them.
