Yep, same notion as replacing stock suspension with real coils. You WILL brake harder, deeper, etc so don't read into us geeking it out Kyoo lol.

By my calculations the CP8350 with a D50 (50mm depth pad) has about 88% of the front brake torque as stock. Would make more sense if they used the CP8352 calipers like @ayoustin discovered.

Although in practice I wonder how much these +/- single digit percent changes really matter. I've run different brake pads front/rear where the coefficient of friction differed by more than that amount.

Realistically any change less than 7-8% you have to be very perceptive to notice a difference in braking.

Well it seems the answer was staring me in the face the entire time. There is a variant of the 8350 that uses four 28.6mm pistons. Piston area is within 2% of the factory caliper. so as long as the pad fits on the stock rotor without any interference issues then we should be golden. I can test the fitment on that pretty soon. Could also be able to offer a 2 piece option for guys who want to ditch the parking brake and lose maximum weight.

I'm going to have a chat with AP when I'm at PRI in a couple weeks as it seems almost all of the 8350s that Essex has on their site use alternate part numbers from what's on the AP site yet I'm able to find dimensional drawings for them when I dig deep enough. So I'm guessing AP has some alternate part numbers they don't advertise. If I can just get a catalog from them with everything that'd make this entire process so much less painless.

Yea you'll be fine to install them. Tons of guys use the Essex kit with great success.

Essex is just a bit cryptic with their caliper models.

i guess now i'm just wishing they built the kit with the 8352's, seems like a more reasonable setup

You'll be happy with it I'm sure. Most factory brake setups bias pretty far to the front because the forward pitch feeling makes drivers feel safe under hard decel but shifting some bias to the rear is usually better from a performance metrics standpoint.

Yup. I dropped .8 on my laps on the first day out with them. The ability to brake harder and deeper for lap after lap will shock you, esp with the 3.12's. "Why the hell did I keep these brownbo's for so long" I kept asking myself lol.

When you really geek it out like Bee you can shift even more bias rearward when it's a wet track.

all right haha, trusting you guys. though essex definitely should correct their statement about f/r bias. it may work out as i continue to try to shift weight rearwards as well too anyway, and curious how the lightweight 17x9.5setup will compare vs 18x9.5.

Haha i find i always have too much rear bias im always shifting it forward. and i only have stock calipers on the back. But i have alot of weight reduction

Do you have the factory ABS system still?

Nope it didnt like the 6 pots on slicks and would fault out when your trying to warm the tyres up. Think it was because the ABS ECU was expecting a certain amount of wheel slip per brake percentage but the cold slicks would slip more than expected and the ABS Would just fault so i dumped the whole system.

Ever thought about going Bosch ABS? It’s expensive but supposed to be pretty amazing.

Heard of it and only know one person who had it, where would you even find it today?

EDIT: talking about the pre-programmed one bosch made for the Evo 9. Doing a M5 with Motec.....that's another topic
