Working out the final tweaks for the rear AP brake setup. Ignore how thick the pads are, they're printed extra thick to keep things in place while measuring.
- Uses a small piston CP8350 caliper so bias is within 2% of stock
- Uses factory rotor so parking brake can be retained and keeps consumable cost down but also allowing for use of 2 piece rotors if desired
- Pads are way larger so they'll last way longer without being much more expensive
- Caliper is stiffer than stock for more even pad wear and better pedal feel. Also brings all the typical AP caliper advantages to the table, stainless pistons, knockback springs, no melting boots etc.
- Compatible with stock and SSB knuckles/uprights
Shoot me a message if you're interested. I'm getting quotes from my machine shop soon. I don't see a huge market for this so will likely be a one run and done deal.
Haha thanks. Yea the other side of the car is just busy with other work and this one had more space. Only ordered one caliper to make sure a bracket was even possible.
What are peoples' opinion on buying options? If I get 5-10 people I imagine I can get a decent discount on calipers to save some money by buying in bulk or would people prefer to source their own calipers?
Only the same in appearance. Piston sizes are different to work properly in the rear.

Well you'd still have two different calipers anyway, Wilwood and Brembo. I'm toying with the idea of making a front bracket to use either CP8350 or CP9660 up front with either a stock rotor or an X rotor respectively.

Yeah. But if I'm going to have aftermarket calipers front and rear, I'd prefer they match. It's sort of normal to see a front brake upgrade with stock rears. Having front and rear upgraded with different calipers doesn't sit right with me.

you can fill the letters and holes with G2 paint I dont put brembo stickers anymore... not sure why its my job to display that and keep them clean
I’d probably be up for a set of brackets only if that’s at all possible?
It's certainly doable. I just need to gauge what people want and if that's just brackets I can certainly accommodate that.

Well I'm not big on copying other peoples' parts and also I believe those brackets are made for a 370mm rotor. I'd prefer to stick to stock rotors to give customers control over consumable cost.

Understood. Well if a front bracket is of interest to enough people it's definitely something I can do.
