If there were enough interest from multiple people we can just rent a trailer and deliver it ourselves. Everyone would have to pitch in on a drum truck to move the drums on and off the trailer. They are about $300 or so. Not sure if there are enough people to really make it worth it though.

I have an idea. Build a single axle frame under a 200 gallon tank. Get an EvoD trailer hitch build on and fill her up every month.

This could be done for ~$400 I'm guessing.

Here's some really good literature put together by the US DoE about Ethanol, everything from production, to storage, to transportation.

Great info thanks!!

So a dream of mine has always been to build a Factory Five car, either the 33' or the Mk4. Just checked their site again and now they have their new project up based on a 2002-2007 WRX. It has been desinged to be under $15k for a complete car and will only weigh 1800lbs. I think I may end up building one of these eventually.

This would be nice but I'm pretty sure you have to have a permit to move that amount of fuel. I know you do for gasoline, so I'm assuming it is the same for E85.

Anyone have any idea what the maximum amount (or weight) of fuel you can transport without having a CDL in texas? Google search turned up absolutely nothing useful.

There is a max but its like 80,000 lbs or some crazy *** number. You don't need a CDL unless your hauling for PAY.

When I towed my Donzi race boat the overall length with the Excursion was longer than a 53' trailer and rig. I have friends that drive custom rigs pulling 50' boats for an overall length in excess of 85'.

As far as storing any fuel at a house... most insurance companies regulate the max amount of fuel as like 20 gallons in proper DOT containers.. so the blue plastic drums are NOT acceptable. So you have an accident and you house catches fire and the insurance company wont pay a claim.. end of story. In an apartment..the liability would be huge. Imagine the worst thing possible.. there is a fire and some little girl aged 10 gets burned and crippled.. Well pack your bags for Huntsville and bring your soap on a rope.

TXDOT did say for CDL drivers, the maximum amount of diesel fuel is 1000 gallons. I'm willing to bet there's a state or federal limiting fuel transportation. I simply can't find it.

It looks like $1000-1200, provided the fender doesn't need to be replaced.
