he cut a square out of the crash beam and reinforced it around the frame rails:

didn't take him very long and we can reproduce it pretty easily. far stronger then the bolt on one i had on my car that didnt make it 4 miles down the street with my bikes on the rack (about 50-60lbs of tongue weight)

Kevin, does the X have a similar spot on the crash beam. I've never pulled the rear bumper.

the front beam is aluminum, and i don't remember off hand if the rear is AL or steel. i'll check tomorrow

Tam said he was able to pull his trailer with his shifter cart on it no problem. he also said hes always in the boost above 65 mph

That would be awesome. If a mitata can pull a trailer I don't see why the X wouldn't be able to. I would only have my 4 wheels/tires, a small toolbox, and some fuel so that is about 450lbs max including trailer.

Ok Kevin. I'll come to the Don Herring track day and participate with my car. I'll need to get some sticky tires and have them put on, which I know you can do. What are a good set of track only tires? ( must fit on stock rims )

See you tomorrow, the the last Sat this month, etc etc

Tom, if you are just going to do one day, I wouldn't worry about getting track specific tires, whatever you have on there should be fine.
