Pointless NTEC chat thread
My suggestion... Dont even bother with it.
They are only awesome for 2 months lol.
it was a joke. the more boost you run, the less that goes through the wastegate. run a lot of boost (like far more then any of us would ever want) and nothing will be going through the wastegate
on a side note, for SCCA the dumps are definately to loud.
and for HHR i was told to drive part throttle with my car because the dump was to loud. ultimately, a dump isn't at all necessary for road race/autocross. the last 5whp you might gain by having a dump isn't necessary. typically we run conservative tunes anyway. my race car made 580whp@ 28psi with a recirculated EWG. it wasn't even close to maxed out and it was already way to fast. joshs drag car can use the last 5whp (maybe more in his case now) from the dump though as hes shooting for mid/low 9's in drag now.
Well make it clear when you're joking ;-)
I don't care about scca, so I'm not worried about being legal w/ them.
I didn't know harris hill had noise restrictions, I thought only ECR really enforced them? In any case, I'll live with it.

It will keep you regular if you eat it on a regular basis!
Haha, the fix for that is to eat Thai food everyday. I strongly believe my only Hispanic trait is being able to eat hot food. I hope I never start getting heartburn as I get older though, I eat chili's on everything. My wife cooks the best Thai food known to mankind, it pays having a wife that can not only cook but has a bachelors in food science (food research and development).

They have been enforcing a 100db limit at some of our events, seeing some of the guys making homemade devices to route the sound away from the sound level meter is quite hilarious. My car with a test-pipe, down pipe, and catback only comes in at ~86db, so yeah, I bet the dump would blow past that for sure!
Your thinking power not perceived volume level. Double the sound pressure is a SPL of +6 dB, 10 dB = twice the perceived volume or twice as loud.
