He would rev me every single time he saw me in the parking lot, drive recklessly, and walk around work bragging day in and day out about how fast it is to lots of women and one day he decided to stop me and say he wants a race. I told him "sure, but are you sure about that? I don't think that's such a smart idea". He then starting saying his charger can do 0-60 in less than 3 seconds, rims and all. When he asked me how big my motor was I immediately knew he didn't know what he was getting into. I then offered the next day to take him for a drive and do a quick WOT. After that, he immediately starting to show me plans of him selling his cars to get an EVO.

THEN THE NEXT WEEK I started talking to this chick at work who from out of no where says "your cars really loud but I bet its not fast". She, too, drives a 2011 Camaro, but the V6 model. I would mess with her from time to time about it just joking, but one day as her boyfriend was picking her up, I started messing with her about the car, and he jumped in aggressively and negatively telling me I didn't know what I was getting myself into and how I drive a Lancer and how ugly and crumby it was. I asked if he was down to meet at the track, immediately, he said I probably have some souped up motor and he started trying to say things to look good in front of his girlfriend...

It's amazing how many people don't know what a turbo is.

Too funny, I too have my own share of stories like this. Me looking at selling my Evo though has nothing to do with racing or anything, just changing priorities.

For a quick story though, some douchy looking dude in a "fobra" (pretty sure it wasn't a real cobra) came rolling up on me on a deserted road where I live, doing his little drop and slam on the gas to make his car hop and crap, his girl friend laughing in her seat. Well, I let him egg me on and I let in, I drop my car in 3rd his does the little honk thing and jumps... he gets about a fender on me till my car hit full boost and I just leave him behind. I slow down and let him catch back up, guy refuses to look but his girlfriend was laughing and pointing at him as I threw the deuces and drove off.

And yes, I know, street racing = bad, it's no real defence here, but it's private owned roads, so... not really sure how to classify this one.

Was the lack of WOT him or the dealer? I went to the Plano Don Herring dealership for mine, once I got onto to 190, I hit 105 without the salesman saying a word. The only person who brought up my speed was me when I looked down and was like

Nope, that doesn't qualify as racing. That qualifies as "embarrassing." I've done it before to a Mustang as well (couldn't be sure what model...it was pre-'05). He tried to come around me, throttle revving up. I dropped mine for like a second and a half...just enough to put him about 2 car-lengths behind. And then got to laugh as he slammed on his brakes to avoid blowing through the red light I was already stopping for.

I did the exaggerated "muppet laugh" to....enhance his humiliation, pointing and laughing as he pulled into the parking lot just beyond the light.

Its amazing how many car forums out there have a street racing section. Scion tc forums are all about the brag. Some guy over there was bragging about cars they beat in traffic. Seriously, they consider going faster than you in TRAFFIC an accomplishment. I guess because they dont mind endangering other peoples lives to feel better about such an amazing victory.

I'm actually one thought away from removing my Evo 9 wing. I put it on there to follow the theme of the drivetrain but it seems all it does is make people want to endanger others at every waking moment. I even had some MS3 follow me for 10 minutes rev'ing me tell the cows came home, and get this, it was around that time it was raining hail the size of golf *****. I'm thinking about going the duck bill trunk, they are really catching on to me.

Traffic, poor choice of roads, etc. I know when I test drove an Evo X at Lewisville, I scared the **** out of the salesman. I pulled out of the lot and redlined the first 3 gears.

For a good testdrive at Don Herring you have to go with Jason Bell during low traffic and have him take you through the clover leaf. He is a great driver and will show you the potential of the evo.

Same thing happened to my brother last night. Lots of traffic and cops and Jason couldn't put the power down. My brother only got to drive it in the neighborhood behind DH. He was a little let down because he never got to feel the power. Then on the way home he got to put his foot in it and was all grins after that.

The camaro was hella fast but the power delivery is just so different. The evo feels faster even having 125hp less. The turbo system is so abrupt compared to the linear power of the big V8. Plus the evo is almost 500lbs lighter i believe and handles like a beast. He is happy but misses the looks of the Camaro

LOL sig worthy :-)

One of my clients has a tuned Camaro SS convertible. It's dangerously fast in a straight line, but in a turn I thought I was going to die an early death.

He lives in Allen so you may see him around if you live in that area.
Tell Michael congratulations, I had a couple meetings Saturday so I regret I wasn't able to meet him

Not me. I love mine too much. It does draw attention...but I love it. The added bonus of it sitting right where the headlights from the car behind me are is pure bonus.

As for the challengers....yeah...that's lame. Long before I ever went to Cobb for my first upgrade I had a guy on the DNT in a black pre-'05 Cobra see that I was passing him and decide he wanted to start driving like a jackhole in heavy traffic. I glanced over at one point after he finally eased up a bit and he was motioning for me to 'go ahead' and laughing as though his lack of seeing "Evolution" on my trunk meant that I wasn't worth his time. Funny thing was....I wasn't trying to race him to begin with. I was just driving. He's the one that lost it when a black Evo-like car 'dared' try to pass him... moron.
