Its very common among the black culture for parents (the mother really) to name their daughters something that will never get them real jobs.

Its said a persons name can determine their personality. If the dont have a name that makes sense, neither will their personality. They typically grow up to be those women who watch reality shows all day or vh1. No wait, they 80% of women in america, nvm

 

I'm all for unique names I suppose, but there's a limit. But there are limits, whether its naming someone Metta World Peace, Deshawnda, or Apple. Some things are just handicapping the kid in life, because we do live in a society which stereotypes. I'm going to assume (incorrectly sometimes) that someone named Dashawndalayota is going to speak in ebonics, and won't be someone I'll take seriously until proven otherwise. It is sad, but true.

 

I am so damn glad to go by Turk...and I can get away for being a "foreigner" lol. My very first semester in college, taking sociology... like a 250 person lecture. I had a 98 in the first test and she wanted to call out my name and the prof called out Ms. Alicia for about 20 minutes and then wrote my whole name on the board and I stood up and said... Ma'am do I look like a chick to you? Names' spelled Alican and pronounces kinda like AliJohn (the john part a little faster) so every since then its Turk or Turkish all the way...

Man, when I got my car, I was very car free about it like i was with my old Eclipse. Now, I'm just like that guy. I use to get door dings all the time and the parking lot at my job, then it got to the point of me parking all the way in the back and asking for security tapes everytime I see anything like that. It's insane how many fat women don't care about door dinging someones car as long as they can fit in theirs

 

A ding is one thing... crap happens, had that been my car that got spray painted... I can't even imagine what I'd do. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't remember half of it.
