There ya go Kris. I thought 450 plus hp was fast. I was wrong 550 is scary fast. I don't know what your budget is but, if you can afford it and want a GSR look at Jake's car. But hell I'll sell mine too if the price is right.

I thought it wasn't safe to do long distance driving with a tubular manifold

Atleast once a year I drive back to st louis. Its a 12 hour drive, im not sure if that would remotely even be safe

Tubular manifolds are just as reliable as a cast manifold if it's constructed properly. Driving 15 minutes or 15 hours it will be in the same temp range the entire time.

Just make sure it's properly coated or wrapped to protect the surrounding components. Tom took a 3k mile roadtrip with his MAP tubular this summer.

Okay, just a little update.

I went down to donherring today to do some test driving. I drove both Matt's MR and Mike's GSR, and I have a few things I'd like to say.

GSR 455whp/450wtq -

Insane power, Sweet Jesus! On top of that the aftermarket clutch is insanely sensitive, and those 2000cc injectors makes it impossible to daily drive the car. The car needed more E85 in it so we drove to Krogers to get some more and the car shut off on us 4 times at stop lights. That car is 100% track only. Nothing sucks more than being in a Left Turn Lane that only last 10 seconds before turning back red only to get stuck there again pissing everyone off behind you just to have to wait 5 minutes for the next Green Arrow hoping the same thing doesn't happen again

MR 386whp/404wtq -

Since the power was on par with my Ralliart (375whp/403wtq), I was able to easily tell if there are any differences, and there were some. The Ralliart, is sadly but true, a must more aggressive ride on the Evo X turbo. I'm not sure why. While driving the MR it was nothing but smooth shifting and the car, although at a higher 10whp than my Ralliart, seemed slower than my MR in a 0-60 and 60-100, but not by much. Not sure what suspension mods were done, if any, but the right felt like I was driving a cadillac compared to my Ralliart.

Looks like I may be going for the MR, both owners truly took insanly good care of their cars, but the MR still seems more for me. I'm not liking the 40,000 miles for a 2008 all that much. Mine is a 2010 with only 15600 miles on it

That's a tough choice but MR seems to be your best bet. Have you tried location one out of CA? Just suggesting it to broaden the search to help you avoid buyers remorse.

While rmondoh's exhaust sounds the same as mine, I would never recommend that brand, not to mention they don't make them anymore, much less support them.

It sounds like to me... you should keep your car. Unless there's some very compelling reason to change...

My 2008 GSR is closing in on 50,000 miles. I will hit that in a couple of days.

Here's the thing though. A 2008 car that was daily driven, it's going to have the miles racked up on it (unless your daily commute is 10 miles or so). No way around it unless it was not daily driven. If you want an Evo with low miles on it, you need to look for 2010's or just buy a brand new one. My 2008 is in incredibly good shape and it's daily driven. Why is that? All I do is daily drive it and keep up the maintenance. It doesn't see drag strips, road courses, or autocrosses. Just not my cup of tea. Only time it really gets beat on is on the dyno when it gets tuned or the occasional highway onramp/passing cars.

^That's a hefty savings over brand new, that's for sure.
