It's an autometer sport-comp II trans temp gauge with, "pro control". The pro control means you can set a max temp and when it's reached the gauge will activate a switch. I plan to have it activate my fan.

I see that now, thats pretty damn awesome. I do agree with Supraboy1 when it comes to replacing the sst cooler though. I went and got the AMS one (was free for me, insurance paid for it as my OEM one got raped). The best part of the AMS one for me is that its cheap, holds 1/2 more quarts of fluid and has a giant fan on it compared to the OEM one. The SSP one might be "better" but the ams one is less than half of the SSP one... lol.

easy for you to say, yours was paid for. I'll see how my fan setup works for me and go from there.

If there's still interest in getting together for a filter/fluid change, let me know!

You are right, pretty easy for me to say. I was going to go with one for my stage 3 though. Just got it earlier and free.

Its always less expensive to just do it right the first time..then to do it so so twice.

I am very curious where that sending unit for the tranny temp gauge will go. It looks very kewl but I want to know more about were you going to tap the tranny?

I am replacing one of the drain bolts with a bolt with the temp sensor in it. I bought a M16 x 1.5 male to 1/8" NPT female adapter. The drain bolt is m16 x 1.5 and my sensor is 1/8" NPT. The drain bolt nearest the passenger side is supposed to be the best for measuring temp.

As for doing it twice, the fan I'm going to use is only $40-50 so not much lost there and the gauge can be used to activate the fan on the AMS or SSP cooler just as easily so nothing lost there.

I got my fluid and filter. Is anyone else thinking of doing this anytime soon or am I on my own? I ordered my filter and fluid from mitsubishiparts.net and had it in less than a week.

Where did you decide to locate the temp sensor?

but , in some countries the same fluid called Castrol BOT 341 and Castrol Transmax Dual .

http://www.castrol.com/castrol/gener...tentId=7067529

My commonsense told me , that, No Way ! , that Castrol make a special
fluid only for mitsubishi transmission .

I found that the SST transmission / FORD DCT Power shift , developed by GETRAG company in Germany :

http://www.getrag.com/en/216

The lab that make this formula oil called British Petroleum (BP):

http://www.bp.com/liveassets/bp_inte...dualclutch.pdf

The oil company that make this fluid to Castrol & several car manufacturer
Called RAVENOL from Germany :

http://www.ravenol.de/products?l=de&part=426

As you can all see the part number for the Dia-Queen SSTF-1
Is the same for FORD , VOLVO , VW , Chrysler , and the
official name of the fluid that supplied to all the manufacturer above
called RAVENOL - DCT/DSG :

http://www.ravenol-shop.de/epages/61...ucts/212106-5L

As you all can see in the link above , you could buy this fluid
as FORD Catalog Number : 1490761 or VOLVO Catalog Number : 1161838
and also at VW ece ....And its the identical to the Dia-Queen SSTF-1 and manufactured in the same factory to all manufactures

Today i went to VOLVO dealership to check it & compare with some Dia-Queen SSTF-1 that i have , and after talking with the head mechanic , he told me that i right in 100% and this fluid came in several names ......

So now you can buy this fluid from FORD or VOLVO by catalog number (supplied in the link above - down page ) and compare the price.

i did all this research , since the Dia-Queen cost in israel 110$ for 1 L ,
and the same fluid cost in VOLVO or FORD 28 $ for 1 L !
