not a dumb question....

do u have a tactrix cable (1.3 or 2.0) & evoscan? If so you just activate it through evoscan while the car is idling.

Hey BTW Trav, I tore my cable apart, found a burnt section on the circuit board, sent it back, and got it fixed for free. I haven't tried it yet but I assume its all good.

Yeah it sucks, I didn't think he would fix it but now I know it was definitely worth a shot.

Haven't even looked at my car in over a month so no rush, that is if you don't mind hanging onto it. I'm working on merging everything into V7 in my downtime then getting the injectors when I get back from Tokyo.

kuzma54,

There is an adjustment screw its called the "BISS" there is a procedure to adjust it in the manual and you need evoscan to activate SAS actuator. You just don't turn the screw as some seem to suggest. I have found a lot of idle / stalling issues are fixed when you properly set the BISS.

Also as everyone else has said ditch the k&n intake
Sorry master tuner

I will suggest he reads your tuning manual before he makes ANY adjustments to his car.

Its nothing more than a base idle screw, It will fix minor issues like temp or loss of vacuum from cams. It will not hurt his car to do it, and I still suggest it. I am certain it already worked for him.

We spent an hour trying to get it to work with an sti we tuned last week, to no avial and had to use the 1.3 cable with the evo flash part unhooked

I was going to try out the 2.0 cable since I've been having problems with my 1.3U on my macintosh laptop and sometimes on my windows. I heard there isn't support for the 2.0 yet for the mac, but it is nice you can use it on multiple vehicles.

Has the 1.3 been working for you Jason? You can hang on to that as long as you need it. No worries. Sorry for leaving the honda there for so long. Promise to get it out by 2011 ... or as soon as I can get my Dad in town long enough to help me. The girlfriend is a hideous driver of the stick shift. I fear for my transmissions life.

Has nothing to do with being a master tuner (not sure where you pulled that from) - it has all to do with giving good information, not TURN THE SCREW.

There is a process to adjusting the base idle, if your going to do it DO IT RIGHT. It's not my manual - its the OEM mitsu manual, take it up with them if you would like it changed to "i pretend i know what im doing edition".

Who said it would hurt? I suggest to everyone to adjust it but do it properly. Your explanation of - "hey man just turn the screw" doesn't help anyone.......

i tried it on my evo8, and it would read, but not write, and for the two sti's we tuned the past two weeks, it wont even connect. its useless. Ya jim your cable is what i used to tune the sti's, it was just an unreal pain in the ***, they have a test connector under the dash you have to connect everytime your going to flash the ecu, then disconnect it, do a pull, re-connect, etc etc. And we used it the other night on shawn's evo, which turned out some really impressive numbers, i was very surprised. The honda is fine lol, np, my poor del sol has been out in the snow for a couple days, because we just havent had room in the place, so your cars not lonely

Haha, the hondas out in the cold while the Mitsubishis are getting the nice garage treatment. I am glad to hear the cable is serving you well. It was collecting dust for me. Only time I used it was when Travman helped me out with my CELs (thanks again Travis). How did Shawn's Evo do? Still using the 9 turbo? Glad to hear he got the car back in running shape. I have been meaning to stop up and say hey to you guys for a while, the holidays have just been crazy. Hope all is well.
