The last issue is that when im shifting at lower rpms, say under 3200, when i let the clutch out and the flywheel engages there is a soft audible klunk that i can hear. I can feel it a little bit in the floor. Higher rpm shifts are fine, nothing out of the ordinary. Car is an 06 MR with 4000 miles on it. And i need to get it aligned.

i wouldn't be too concerned about that. like everyone else said, these sound pretty standard. but of course getting her looked at never hurts. so mike @ baierl ftw!

just wait until it gets a little colder though, that's when the car starts to make all her fun noises

my favorite is the decel noise when you lift your foot of the gas in gear, and it sounds like an angry badger is chewing on your synchros. heh heh.

by the way, what color is she? there aren't a whole lot of us IX MR owners around.

Thanks guys. I will still get it checked out but now i dont feel like a race against some mechanical failure. Its an 06 Apex Silver MR with the Zero lift kit but not the appearance package. I really dont care for the flat grey wheels. Would love to find a set of diamond black bbs's in flawless condition. Bought it used at Harrison auto sales in irwin with 4001 miles on the odo. It was traded in up here but the original owner bought it in South Carolina. Ive been meaning to get pics but just havent gotten around to it yet.

The rear window creak on cold days is my favorite.

Angry badger. That's funny. Mostly because it's so true.

i don't get too many creaks, the seats sometimes. although ever since i put the exhaust on, every once in a while i will get a strange rattling around the rear of the headliner.

that is always an interesting one.

thankfully it doesn't happen all that often, because it drives me nuts when i hear it. oh well, i guess that is what we have loud radios for.

hey guys, i just posted my clutch up forsale.

Got an exedy twin disk that i cant use anymore. first 700 miles were break in, and the other 1500 was highway driving. took it to the track 2 times (3 launches each) on the stock turbo setup putting down about 330whp.

Upgrading to big turbo setup and need something much more heavy duty. With this in mind i would rather sell this one before i install my motor and only get a couple hundred miles out of it on a massive HP application.

PM me my local friends if you want to see it or are interested...

Pics will be up tomorrow after 1:00 PM when the clutch is in my posession...

For Sale

Hey locals I am considering sellin my APR front splitter . It has been off the car now for a year and I really dont think I am going to use it since it is kinda counter productive for my drag racing addiction.

If anyone is interested hit me up we can discuss willing to negotiate

Alright guys I need some opinons here regarding my winter tire situation.

I have a set of Blizzak WS-50 on wheels. I like them in the snow but on dry pavement stop distances are ridiculously long. Probably a good 15-20 feet more by my not so scientific 60-0 panic stop test last year. I despise that.

I am considering getting a set of those goodyears that Jermey recommended but at 920/set(mounted blah blah) it gets pricey.

I can
a: Keep using the blizzaks. Cheapest option. Car will go well in the snow.
b: Don't be acheap ***. Get the Goodyear all seasons.
c: Get a better performing winter tire or cheaper all season.
d: Run summer tires all year and hope that global warming isn't just a fad
e: Quit job, stay in play Halo until snow stops.

I would say do research and try and find a good all season tire that wont break your bank.......the ones I have although get noisey the more miles go on them were $110.00 per tire and work awesome in the snow and really dont do to bad of a job in the dry, which is why im trying to sell my advans.

My next set of tires will be either the toyo proxy4 (all season), they are supposed to be a nice tire and have recieved pretty decent reviews. Or BFG has a new G-force super sport all season that is supposed to be inexpensive and work well in all conditions.

but im cheap ***.......

In my opinion snow tires are kind of waste in Pittsburgh. They suck on dry pavement. How many times will you drive in the snow? Last year we were pretty good, same with the year before. All seasons do the job well enough - a good balance of both worlds. And don't forget that driving snow tires on dry pavement wears them out quicker than intended.
