it is one thing to be married. it is another to have a wife who isn't a mother. let me check that weekend out. I may be in for it. unless you don't recommend this course for a beginner. this is the one that is sort of a mix between autox and a short road course right?

fu(k... I had a really nice post typed out and my comp. took a crap when I hit submit!

Here are the cliffs...

there is never a bad time to start but I would HIGHLY recommend this for first timers. here is why;

doing a regular parking lot AX, its very easy to lose direction and get lost, or as its called, go 'off-course'. when I was starting out last year that was my biggest frustration cause if you go off-course your run is basically void and you don't get a do-over. On the road course there is only one way to go, as long as you stay on the blacktop, so it takes that getting lost part out of the equasion. It also adds a couple other dimensions to the fun cause now you have elevation changes and on/off camber turns thrown in the mix.

Obviously the course will be mich different this time around but to give you an idea of what to expect here is a video from a pretty good z06 driver at the last event.

and here is one from me in the EVO at the same event.

The course will still probably be 70+ seconds long and we shoudl get anywhere between 4-8 runs depending on how smooth things go.

Wow, that looks amazing. Sadly, my clutch will probably not be broken in by that time. Pete, Adam, and myself will be doing the install, along with my radiator, this Friday. Hopefully, I will have the car ready in time for the Novice school (fingers crossed).

Marc, I picked up the Exedy Twin Disk, HD version. It was expensive but the reviews I've read and heard made it a wise choice. The white Evo I drove at CBP over the weekend sealed the deal for me. I got a great deal from a local vendor and am actually picking it up today. Just need to grab a throw-out bearing and some loctite and I'm good to go!

Sna, I have the fluids already. I picked up Amsoil fluids, MTG for the trans, and SVG for the TC and Rear diff. I was on Diaqueen for the longest, but have heard nothing but good on the Amsoil. Why would I need to change the fluid after the clutch breaks in? Doesn' make sense.

I was there for that. the G35 driver admitted he took his eyes off the road to turn traction contoll OFF, so it really was his own dumb fault. its understandable to be nervous though. the scca does their best to make these event as safe as possible but there is only so much you can do to prevent things like that from happening especially when you have drivers that don't use common sense... reminds me of that 'incident' that happened a couple weeks ago at CBP.
